Saw TKing on opposing team this weekend, though in general it's a rare occurrence. I have to admit, I will just go and kill the TKer and deal with the consequences later, though I may just leg them first to see if they stop. If I get reported so be it. I think PGI can look at my history (from closed beta) and the other payer's and figure out who is here to play and who is here to grief.

Still very rare for me, maybe seen two in the previous 3 months. The worst I've seen it was back in Open Beta when some guy who Crushes Skulls was so notorious every team killed him at the start of every game before he even had to think about team killing.

Posting before Egomane slaps a UAV lockdown on this thread.

I will say this. There was (and may still be) a bug where random team mates don't get highlighted with a blue triangle. I think I died from this once (although he ignored my team chat inquiries as to why he killed me), and I started shooting a team mate I thought was an enemy ( until I realized he was firing past my team and at the enemy). I promptly apologized.

That could be causing some of the issues as well.

I have seen that happen a couple of times (I once blew away a bewildered spider capping theta on canyon for that very reason) but it was a good 6 months ago and haven't seen it recently.

Haven't noticed an increase in this. Intentional TKing has been something I've only very rarely witnessed. Anyways, you should not kill or fight back. That makes it harder for them to figure out what happened when you report the incident. Also, discussing the act of killing TKers has earned thread lockdowns before. You may wish to edit your post if you want this one to stay up.

Likely increasing due to people learning that PGI doesn't do anything with reports.

Very rare, but My ELO is pretty good ATM. At least it feels like I am out of the doldrums of that stuff.

Up until around a month ago some jagoff with different variations of the name 'teamkiller' would pop up in my matches. He'd start off spewing about how PGI was the worst company ever and people who supported them were worthless and then the match would start and he'd pick a (friendly) target and blaze away.

So if people are team killing on purpose, report them. If its a continuos thing, let them get banned. Only hurts them and gets rid of un-needed players.

I went through a bad phase and got reported once. Got a lovely message threatening a ban.
Needless to say I'm reformed now

Someone who shoots teammates intentionally, should be taken out very quick.
But that's really rare.

A bit more common is the old habbit of coming back to the game by clicking instead of alt-tab, resulting in a shot fired with the main weapon group.
This can happen but is also rare these days.

I am ashamed to admit this, but I did this the other day. Unleashed a full alpha by clicking the window. Fortunately I was in a clan mech and spread my damage all over the place instead of coring somebody. And it was a group drop so I could apologize over TS.

'MY BAD, FREE DAMAGE FOR EVERYONE!'

Met and reported one of that player's variations as well. Though he wasn't spouting any anti-PGI crap. Reported him, didn't see him again afterwards. Hope it keeps that way. Second TK-er I've encountered in the game iirc. Been playing for slightly more than a year.

Closing this thread for discussing violations of the griefing rules. This also inadvertently also advertises this bad behavior to a broader audience, which is why I have to shut it down.

Additionally some users seem to be making it a sport to promote this kind of bad behavior for various unkown reasons. This ranges from unproven "no actions if reported" messages to bold statements when and why someone teamkills or insults or otherwise makes himself reportable.

Please not, that if you come across a player who is acting against the griefing rules or the code of conduct, please report the player to support via the web-ticket system or with a mail to support@mwomercs.com.

In your report, make sure that the following informations are available:
- Name of offending player
- Type of offense
- Map played
- Date, time and timezone

You can provide further informations if you have them available. This includes but is not limited to:
- Names of other players involved (witnesses)
- Screenshots
- Links to videos or other material that might prove usefull to the GMs

In any case, please do not take any other action on your own. Let the greifer grief until he gets banned. if you prevent the griefing player from acting, you are creating inconsistent game protocolls for the GMs to look through, making it harder for them to act, which in turn will result in a longer play- and griefing-time for the offensive player.
