So, basically, it will perform like a 30t Mech but weigh 20t.

Well, I guess that's one way to balance your game...

I still think it's a pity MechWarrior's inherent balancing item - weight matching - isn't part of MWO. Then there'd be a reason to take something other than the "best Mech in class" and no need to make every chassis have special rules.

I love my locusts but I have always hated the 1V as the spider 5k does the same build better but that cooldown is amazing, prob wont ever be able to afford the cooldown mods for every weapon for my 40 somthing IS mechs tho...

The different perks are nice at least. They may cut down on eliting every Locust with the exact same build for example. I'm pretty sure the single ERLL has been the go-to build for any Locust who's intended loadout you didn't like, or couldn't maximize anyway. I remember hating missiles on the thing because you can't carry decent ammo without compromising your armor or speed. ERLL'd it.

I suppose you could do... this?
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7badabd701b465b
But I wouldn't. Too many compromises made and getting into dangerously slow with thin armor and scarce ammunition territory. The Locust is so limited on tonnage that devoting 8 tons to weaponry just asks too much of the chassis. The 1V seems stuck with the choice of running the ERLL or the 4 machineguns if you want good performance. Even without the ERLL bonuses though, you're still getting the standard energy perks to cooldown, duration, and range. The old standard 1V design still stands. ( or alternately swapping 1 ton of ammo and the ML for a MPL ). Boring, but practical.

I think something along this line would be better (too much armor, thats not the way of locust :)

As for 1v its two times better now, but still not something very good. Well maybe thats because i have trouble tracking targets at long range...
