Sooooo, any mech can equip BAP but only a few can equip ECM buuut ECM will now be hard countered out to 360m by BAP and the quirks are in before making allowances for this change, am I right?

The DDC keeps getting uglier and uglier. Hell, all the Atlas' have been for that matter. Hell, with all the missile quirks in Viktor is most likely right. In PUGlandia, it's gonna be ugly.

BAP was already pretty much 'required' on LRM-heavy mechs, if only to prevent that enemy Raven from completely shutting you down if it ever came within 180 meters.

that aside... i think maybe 360m is a bit too much... 270m would have been better.!

I welcome the change. Maybe people won't be so inclined group up into a death ball if their ECM umbrella can be so easily dissipated.

Standard IS medium laser at 270m means zero ability to utilize ECM within firing range around a team that has a couple BAP equiped mechs. Even Clan MLs barely have the range to stay out of BAP range if this goes live.

Your speculating I been running CBAP so I can try to get my SSRMs to work

As far as I can tell it helps for one ECM but if there is more than one forget it
Basically to get my SSRMs to work half way decent I carry 3 tons of targeting computer and BAP

And I’ve been switching off and on with TAG

TAG does not do much so I took it back off again

Bottom line is when you stick your face out you pray for a lock-on
Still experimenting but I kind of like them since it’s something different (looks cool)

Oh, I don't think the murderball is going anywhere. Not unless they add orbital bombardments that target the heat signatures of clumped-up 'mechs.

Agree with that. At 360m, BAP would cover nearly 6 times the original area. Given BAP was already worthwhile taking for some builds, this is a whopping boost that makes it borderline compulsory. Otherwise, I like the range boost idea in general.

The ones that move don't bother me so much. It should much easier to break up the ones that like to stand still though.
