It's about time clans start getting hero mechs. All the content released is for innersphere. They have 100% of the hero mechs and the best auto cannons and quirks. I think it would be dope if they released a hero dire wolf that could mount ECM and also not lose its hard points when it takes ams. It should also have quirks for dual gauss rifle sense that's the best load out for the D woof

Clans are supposed to have superior tech but IS is supposed to have superior numbers. The moment they decided Clan vs IS was going to be 12 vs 12 instead of 10 vs 12 (or something else), they had no choice but to balance Clan and IS 'mechs because the goal now is for an all-IS team to have an even chance of beating an all-Clan team in a 12 vs 12 match.

As far as I know, Quirks were created so that they could buff IS 'mechs instead of nerfing Clan 'mechs even more (remember their goal is for an all-IS team to have an even chance of beating an all-Clan team in a 12 vs 12 match). Following this logic, Clan 'mechs would never get Quirks.

Well, in all seriousness, if you take the LRM10 off your Whorehawk and add more DHS, you have Tara's Hero Warhawk.....

Custom Configuration
But why we not gets

  • Widowmaker The preferred configuration of the Black Widow Natasha Kerensky, the Widowmaker can do a great deal of damage at any range. Two ER PPCs are mounted for long range combat. These are backed up by a pair of Large Pulse Lasers. For close combat, the Widowmaker carries three ER Medium Lasers, an ER Small Laser, and an Ultra Autocannon/20. This mix of weaponry served Natasha Kerensky well until her death at the hands of Jade Falcon Star Commander Joanna. The Widowmaker now rests on the floor of the Great Gash on Twycross, in silent memorial to its legendary pilot.[24] BV (1.0) = 2,534, BV (2.0) = 3,041[25]

Now that is some good satire about IS pilots, made me chuckle, but it's true about the Hero dept.

OP absurdity aside, there is a valid point here.

IS mechs are about to get a huge (but justified) boost. (IS ERLL with 700+ meters range, and a 1.25 duration, for example.)
This is about on par with clan tech weaponry. and that is OK.

Now the issue here is that clan weapons have been nerfed in critical ways (burst ACs) and clan mechs have been nerfed in specific areas (no engine/structure change.)

------------------
To be perfectly clear, I am not advocating "buffing" the clans.. but removing the penalties would go a long way.

Hell, the SCR is actually a ninja 52ton mech.. (10% reduced health)

First all the first wave Clan Mechs need to be available for C-bills. Only then will PGI launch clan hero mechs to generate extra revenue. Though you might have to wait until all the Phoenix mechs get their heroes. With the rumoured double team Locust and Shadowhawk coming up that only leaves the Wolverine and Thunderbolt. Which could schedule nicely with the all wave 1 clan mechs being available for C-bills.
