I'm not sure what exactly just happened but I got 24(!) spotting assists on my Timberwolf in Caustic Valley just now.

The problem is, I got most of those when I wasn't actually spotting anything.

I was on one side of the caldera, shooting LRMs at mechs being spotted by UAV... unless I am supposed to get $$$ by LRM'ing people that are being spotted by others?

I sure liked the money, but not sure this is WAD.

Is it?

Edit : I believe it was this game : 487308296488993578 2014-10-31 17:20:24 152

And boy, did I rack up a score there. O_o

Do you run Advanced Target Decay on your 'Mech?

it's quite possible, if you were using that Module, whoever had been spotting the target stopped, and the other LRMers were relying on your more-slowly-decaying lock as their last salvos hit.

As for the sheer number of spotting assists you got, that's uncommon, but not outlandish. I've had matches where I've had more than 40.

Radar Dep and Adv. Sensor Range, no other modules. So I'm afraid not. I understand your logic and I hadn't considered it but it is not this case. In particular, on some of the targets that I got a lot of spots from, I was lurming them from the south side of the caldera, under cover, to them, on the slopes of the north side. So I never had LOS on them to begin with, it was an UAV.

So right now I'm not sure whether there is a bug or the shooter is also supposed to get rewarded for shooting somebody that somebody else is spotting...

It's quite weird.

I've noticed this too where someone else would spot, I'd lock (and won't even had LoS or even be engaging) and still get spotting assist. I'm not about to complain though.
