This is a new player problem.
As you get better, you see fewer LRM, unless a tourney or event 'promotes' its use.
Radar Dep module + better movement = less lrm death.

Requirements to be effective with LRMs:
1. Target prioritization & knowing when to shoot and when not to shoot
2. Upgraded equipment (DHS, Artemis, BAP, probably tag/narc, possibly target info delay)
3. Being within certain ranges, allowing for travel time that increases with distance
4. Leaving yourself relatively vulnerable to brawlers or light mechs, in most builds
5. Packing plenty ammunition
6. Making sure someone on your team keeps constant line of sight on moving targets that often have plenty of cover, thanks to PGI and refusing to make any truly "open" maps
Requirements to be effective with Artillery/Air Strikes:
1. Know how to point at least *one* time per match, and click & run around wildly
2. Fork up 40,000 cbills per match
Counters to LRMs:
1. ECM
2. Breaking line of sight
3. Radar deprivation
4. AMS
5. Going so fast that LRMs struggle to keep up (i.e. Commandos going 150+)
6. Torso-twisting to minimize damage (standing sideways actually makes it harder too, if the mech has a skinny side profile)
7. Staying either outside 1000m or moving inside 180m (even though Clan LRMs can damage inside that range, the damage inside of around 120m is next to negligible)
8. Making use of terrain to block incoming missiles
9. Listening to Bitching Betty
Counters to Artillery/Air Strikes:
(none)
Enough said?
Now, my post is obviously originally aimed at artillery spam ingame, but the points about the LRMs still stand.
It's a balanced weapon, it's already about to get a damage nerf, and it's not by any means "easymode" to use with any real, reliable success.

Put simply, if you die to LRMs, YOU'RE doing something wrong. OR, your opponent is very good at what he does.
LRMs are a VERY team oriented weapon. If you and your team use cover properly, have overlapping fields of ECM and AMS cover, and eliminate Spotters, LRMs won't bother you. Conversely, if the enemy position themselves correctly, and their spotter is very good at neutralising your ECM coverage, then you will get decimated. But, they are a TEAM based weapon.
As opposed to Direct Fire weaponry, which is all about individual play.
Don't get me wrong. I am not one of these "LRM DEFENDERS" that get branded by the Haters. I just know that my Brawling game has been much better since the CoD "Snipers" have had to keep their heads down.
But I've said it before, and I'll say it again. LRMs are right now, the most balanced they have been in a long time. And the only way I will endorse a nerfing of them, is if Long Range Pinpoint Fire gets a Cone of Fire effect added to it. NOT because I want the game to devolve into a melee slugfest. But because I am sick of all the 30pt Alphas at 1200m that get called "Skill" because some one has the twitch reflexes of a caffeinated squirrel. Sure, ER PPCs right now at 1200m, THAT is a Skill Shot on a medium going faster than 70kph, and actively evading. But Dual Gauss to the side of a whale? Not Skill.
TL:DR. NERF ALL THE THINGS!

New player? I have been playing since early august of last year. And they have gotten 10x worse since when i started playing. And radar dep module? The one that is 15,000 gxp and 6,000,000 cbills. Yeah thats so affordable man.

So?
I started playing in March this year.
Im 'newer' than you and i dont find them a problem. I dont use radar dep either.
When i first started playing i was lrm'd to death often. Now, far, far less often. Why? Skill i would say, from learning the hard way and watching others after i die.
15k GXP isnt terrible if you dont waste it on bunk modules. I have unlocked several 15k modules that i dont even use.
6m cbills, cost of an average heavy mech/medium upgraded for a module that not only saves you from lrm but really the benefit is concealment and cover it brings.
Now, if you are a casual gamer and only play an hour every other day or so, this game may not be for you with that time commitment. Unless you focus on one style of play, you may need more time.
If you play more regularly, well, get better. Not saying to be snide. It took me 3 years to become a 'decent' amateur boxer.
Dont expect every game to have a noob intro mode. This is a niche game. Some games are inherently more difficult than others.

Well, cut him some slack...
When was the last time you saw a LRM QQ'er come to the forum and ask veteran players how they avoid the LRM Black Plague of Instadeath in a well though and non-complaining manner?
He is just following form....

We're going to tell our armed forces that hey if you can't see your target you can't shoot at it, it isn't fair. I know you wouldn't get laugh at by them and hey you are by me (retired military). Welcome to the real world where kills are made from a distance.

Maybe, but that doesn't make it any better. He's changed his poll now anyway, so I do take that back.
