Make sense?

Like invisible lasers, orbital sensor systems, orbital artillery, micro drone warfare, lifelike kinetic responses from getting hit by Gauss/AC20/etc, radiation leaks, heat effects, etc etc etc...

Ill take fantasy pseudo 1980/90's future punk over realism for this game.

Real life rail gun...i dont think a few tons of super 1 foot thick mech armor is gonna do much...

(think that general owns some stock???)

Go back to school son and learn a difference between Rail and Coil gun.
GR(Gauss Rifle) is a Coil Gun, yap, in BT-U there is a Chem-Rails and pure REMA(Rail Electro-Magnetic Accelerator) but Chemrail does only 12dmg, and REMA weights like a Heavy Gauss Rifle about 20 tons, take 12 critical slots, does 27 damage and set to production only in 3130.

Nearest realy BAD THINGS which can hit MWO IS armory is only Balzer Cannon(67% ready), HGR and IGR, plus HPPC.

Slap them for being stupid.

If only we could. It's like me dealing with people I work with everyday. "So all my coworkers can get their work E-mail on their cell phones but my work E-mail never comes through." I check and find out they are not on a data plan and not hooked to a WLAN. "Oh, do I have to have access to the network to get E-mail on my phone?" *smack*

Yeah, but most users would be like, "Why can't I fire half my weapons? My leg is missing not my arm." and when you told them their mech was bracing on one arm to raise themselves up to fire with the other arm they would complain about that.

Yeah but the eternal pick and choose. Hence why Omnimechs are less customizable than IS mechs

The leg slow down makes sense to me. It also seems a fair punishment for losing a leg, rather than how it used to be.

That said, the ridiculous screen shake and blur on LRM impact is a whole 'nother story. If their 'system' for suppression can't even run on decent particle settings, then it shouldn't be there and they need to look at alternatives.

Its blinding lights even on low particles and low effects...soooo...Though PPCs do look amazing on high...

Its stunlock in that you cant really see to shoot back or really move anywhere for cover as your blinded by flashes galore. And I know when im under massive barrage, I suddenly start to lag and get stuttering and crap, so it kinda is a stunlock lol...controls become sluggish and stuttery......not cuz of the game, but I guess my PC isnt a super computer.

Then technically that's your PC stunning you. ;)

don't remember falling over in the older mechwarrior titles

you fell over in MW2 mercenaries, MW3, and MW4.

weapons also forcibly torso twisted you which allowed you to really stun lock people.

MWO just has screen shake

The loss of a leg is almost always GG anyway. The stun is irrelevant when death is galloping towards you in his white urbie.

If it happens to me, I treat every subsequent shot as though it was my last. It's like a sense of fatalism, "if I die, you're going with me."

Having said that, I find that if I'm battling a skilled opponent and leg them, they are suddenly more dangerous than they were while at full speed. They don't have to contend with crosshair bounce while moving, and will usually land a solid hit with their next shot. I -love- spectating light figts and watching a pilot lower their guard after kneecapping their enemy.

"No! Don't gloat! Sweep the knee! FINISH HIM!"

Isn't the discussion here not about why we slow down when getting legged, but why we slow down even more when someone is shooting at us and we are legged? Going at 40kph is punishment enough.
It is ********. Remove it.

If this game was anything like real life, as soon as a light mech got legged running full speed it would face plant so ******* hard the pilot would probably die from the sheer force of it.

I believe the original game had it if you lost a leg you just died, so you are lucky you can keep going with just 1.

To which we stated you could instead fall down and only be able to use certain weapons as your mech pushed up on one arm and tried to fire at the enemy. Getting up would result in possibly falling over again and taking even more damage from falling down... I've watched mechs in TT destroy themselves just trying to get up so they could utilize all their remaining weapons.

You think being snared like that is bad... You have no idea how nice the devs have been to you. ;)

Yeah, we cant knock mechs down at all....

Though what we had in beta was a bit excessive....

Also, once you regain your speed (40kph or slower) your limp goes away.

Sorry, do I know you? I know just fine how it works in tt.
PGI arn't going to get that working, so they are going to have to accept that this is a computer game with perfect convergence and aiming. As far as being legged is concerned, the stun has to go.

Yeah, they should have put in knock down. And if your mech falls face first into water, your cockpit fills with water and the pilot drowns. ;) /sarcasm
