I had some great games and some really really horrible games. It's all part of the "game", just don't take the bad ones personally. The more players the better I say, keep 'em coming PGI!

Downvote for the OP thread here. I thought the weekend event was great, and I think new players getting on and mixing it up with the "vets" is fantastic. Sure, I kind of cringe when I see the last guy on our team is stuck in high zoom and can't find the one light that is shooting him in the back. But I recognize, he is new and learning the game. 24 damage? Heck, it's better than 0, and he was out there trying and getting better. Good on him. He is what we need to keep the game going. I can't stand all the negative chats and calls about how the new guys should get gone. Why? What did they do to "ruin your fun?" First off, if you aren't having fun, then go find something else to do - you are wasting your time. If winning is all that matters, I suggest loading up starcraft and typing in "power overwhelming." You'll have loads of fun then.

If, however, you want to enjoy blowing up stompy robots and the randomness you get in a matchmaker that doesn't give you easy wins every time, then keep on playing MWO. It's a great game filled with mostly great people. It's actually the arrogant obsessives whose entire self image is wrapped up in their video game win/loss record that ruin it for the rest. In short, great job PGI. Great event this weekend. To those who get pissed off about "quality of play," grow up.

Also, anyone that's hating on the tourney (outside of being stingy on some of the rewards).. mecha jesus is shaking its head.

I was pleasantly surprised to have not read a single negative post on the tourny this weekend.. ...until now. Still sets a new record I think..

Great rewards, easy to get fun times!

There are two kinds of people in this world, my friend.

Those who can play in solo queue, and those who QQ.

Please.... I will pay money to play in a veteran server.

Please PGI no more tournaments until a veteran server is created.

The prizes are great, but the quality of gaming falls through the floor every weekend this happens. It makes the game almost unplayable when every kid and their dog comes to play. The plethora of 12-1 wins and 12-1 losses that result from the still completely broken matchmaker are enough to drive a veteran player mad.

Pretty please

Bah, blaming the "others" for your loses is getting old. New rule, no complaining about the team unless we first admit 3 mistakes in game we made ourself...take some personal responsibility first before one starts laying it on everybody else.

So we get a tournament where we get nice stuff while we're playing, instead of having to grind matches all day long in order to even have a chance to get a top spot to get big reward... with a qualification floor so low even newbies can make it... and the OP complains about it?

What.

Make new friends? There are tons of people on my MWO friends list that I only know as disembodied voices over teamspeak.

I have been seeing a lot of really close good matches this weekend (along with the stomps of course).

I've had actual fun. I've seen names I havent seen in months. This was a good move. Lets hope we and PGI can keep it up.

This be the truth. No 10 man comms group to back your ass up.

Just your own skills (or lack thereof)

A lot of good feedback and a lot of the usual forum idiocracy. Thanks to all for the feedback and please consider the the title of my post was designed to get responses, not that I actually want or expect PGI to stop having cool tourneys and challenges.

What I do want is a better matchmaker (prolly not gonna happen) and possibly even a veteran (maybe competitive is a better word) server. If players are willing to pay money for that, and I know there are lots, whats the problem.

The players who think I am blaming losses on new players are completely missing the entire point - as those kinds of people almost always do. I enjoy winning a blowout match about as much as I do losing one. I just think it happens way to often in this game and doubly so with events.

I did get Halloween lights though so life is good :D

Enjoy the rest of the tourney!

Lets see I ended up with 2 mechbays, enough free MC to buy 3 oneshot paintjobs, a pumpkin, a mug, countless free MC consumables, and millions in free Cbills. I can handle a little bad play for free stuff.

I'm -13 games down due to this tourney.I have had games with 4 kills and no rewards,I dunno if i'm bugged or what but I haven't received squat from any of my matches.I have had some good games but the mass lurming, tagging, narcing really makes it a chore to play.
Seriously I have not received anything from this event unless the rewards are in some secret place that I can't find.

They're on the tournament page down the bottom. Website, not game client.

The rewards are claimed on the tournament page go check that.

This is the best they've come up with so far and wouldn't want the free stuff?

I had a good time this weekend. Prizes were lame but still gameplay better than the rest of the tourneys.
