I’m probably not alone in having maps that I’m excited about every time they come up in rotation while others are just something to endure.
So I’ve been thinking about how PGI can put out consistently better maps. I do not know what their current internal testing and refinement process is, but by the time something is shown on the public test server it seems that the map is locked down in all aspects but spawn points and glitch fixes.
Would it be a good idea to provide upcoming maps in a “rough draft” state on the main server, to test things like flow and balance with a larger population? The idea would be to discover and address underlying design issues before spending a lot of development time on aesthetics and bric-a-brac.
Thoughts?
