starts Christmas eve, stops the day after Christmas
10 wins - present cockpit item
30 wins - free mechbay
50 wins - 1000 GXP
70 wins - Christmas jingle warhorn item
90 wins - Santa Atlas, Santa skinned champion Atlas-D + mechbay to hold it.

That is right, I'm suggesting Christmas stuff on Halloween, Just beating Walmart to the punch by 12 hours.

It'd be awesome if the inevitible Christmas event is extended through to New Year's Day, since they're so close together and some people are going to have a lot of time off from work in that week.

grbabing in santas bag as we had with the trick and treat bag. Was a great event, didn't forced people to grind and stll gets omething on a luck dependend base.

Definitely agree that this event was the best so far. When wins/kills are the event you get a lot of toxic players. But with this point system and it only asking for 30 points total you can easily achieve this 90% of the time if you aren't riding your team to victory every match. Still skill based yet highly rewarding. Hoping for more events like this in the future.

Sorry, but if I just clawed my way through 30 wins and all I got was 1000gxp, I'd be flipping furious. Even in this Halloween event, I found single heat sinks more valuable for its sale price then a treat bag with 200gxp.

No no, GXP need to be the base prize and move up from there.

I do however like the idea of a Santa atlas-D and the jingle war horn. We totally need a jingle bells war horn. Come on Russ..... You know you want it!

Sounds cool! I could also go for another Trick or Treat Event, but with Christmas themed stuff instead. For example, instead of a Trick or Treat bag filled with tricks or treats, it could be a Santa stocking filled with presents or "coal." The coal would replace the tricks, while the presents would replace the treats. Giveaways could be the same, but with Christmas cockpit items replacing the Halloween ones.

I would love a Christmas warhorn that goes "Ya got jingle bell jingle bell jingle bell rocked" to the music of the classic Jingle Bell Rock.

Not Atlas again please. . . .I want Xmas LOCUST, something in santa's little helpers style. Just a little present. :)

It would be cool, and not so powerful, I want see more this little insects on the battlefield.

Its so cool mech, pure adrenaline. I think people are too scared of buying this, but if it will be for free, players definitely will try this little devil. :D

Provided GXP is still an attainable prize, I'm happy with that. I get that veteran players are swimming in GXP and only make use of when insta-mastering a set of new mechs, but for newer players (*wave*) grinding out GXP to unlock the more useful modules is a length process and bonus GXP is very handy... especially if you made a few poor decisions/misunderstood the pilot skill section at first ... *cough*... :D

But not everyone is so brave like you or me :D
Let's be honest, there are better lights in overall performance. But no one is so crazy and funky like Locust!

Cockpit Item - Atlas Statue with Santa Hat

You forgot that if you score way too low, you get a lump of coal.

I really like this idea for a few reasons.

1) Its relatively inclusive. Yes, an advent calender exists solely in relation to Christmas, I won't deny that, but in using such a format would include many religious and cultural holidays that similarly occur in December (usually due to the Winter Solstice). I'm certain that I'm not the only non-Christian here, and while I don't feel excluded, condescended to, or anything like that by not being included, many people do, understandably so. In fact, the reason why so many businesses have employees say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" is because it demonstrably increased sales for many of those that did.

2) It keeps the event going over a long period of time, allowing more people to partake in it. Again, being inclusive - nobody wants to feel left out. Most, if not all, who play MWO have had to miss at least one weekend event in the past two months, myself included.

3) Due to people logging in regularly, it will create a bigger player base. Even if somebody only plays one match a day, say because to get the daily gift you need to partake in one a day, you're going to get hundreds, if not thousands, of extra players each day, and even if it is only one match, thats still quite a difference.

4) If there's any additional reason to play during this period, say, a 10% boost to C-Bill earnings during the timeframe, a lot more people will be playing. Really any reason to play more than one match a day.

Personally, if it were to go with an Advent Calender layout, I think I'd go with "play one match a day to open that day's reward", and make the rewards somewhat randomized but not completely randomized so you don't have bad luck and only end up getting GXP the entire event. Can be achieved via minimum thresholds for the rewards. Additionally, include a boost to C-Bills and XP, probably nothing too substantial, but something you'll appreciate at the end of four weeks, say, 10%.
