I won several Advanced UAV modules in the recent event. I decided to go ahead and use them, and figured since I had 6 of them, I would engage the auto-refill option. Well, it seems that it purchases another with MC instead of using one you already own.
So dont use the auto refill option on MC consumables even if you have a few already.

That's bad. They should add more code to use up existing consumables before buying. I'd try to ticket support about that.

I'm glad I didn't click that box. I figured I would forget about it after a match and it would start draining MC. Which is probably the point in giving them out.

Damn this auto refill, lost 125MC with this option! So sad

That's why the box is unchecked by default. Honestly its working as it's supposed to, they can't coddle you more.
FYI: I think UI2.0 has a lot of backwards design implementations, but the auto-refill is one that makes sense from another programmers perspective.
