Champion mechs get a bonus to xp, not cbills.

You are mistaken Halcyon201. Not ALL Champions are the same. Founders/Phoenix/Invasion/S and AH are special Champions that gain 30% bonus Cbills. Standard Champion versions (ie:player made/submitted) only receive a bonus to XP

Yeah, I miss 350-400k match income.

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

I know my Phoenix variants only get a 30% C-bill bonus, similar to regular Hero mechs. I don't think there's any mech that gets a bonus to both XP and Cbills.

I have not checked the Phoenix recently, but I assure you that the founders/Invasion/and AH and S all gain Cbill bonus. I have pictures to prove it....gotta figure out how to post them on here though.

Just checked my Phoenix, and YES, it does earn bonus Cbills. To be clear though, I am specifically talking about the mechs that have the (P) (F) or (I) after the call letters-ex: Wolverine WVR-6R(P). Not to be confused with the normal Wolverine WVR-6R.

Seems I was mistaken about the xp bonus-that only applies to normal player made Champions

They may have a "C" on their portrait, but they have hero income bonuses of 30%.

Why people continue to confused by this is beyond me.

I don't get it......what happened to TAG that makes it worse now? You can still make bonus money with it.

TAG used to give you a TAG kill bonus of 6000 c-bills even if the mech was killed with direct fire weapons. To me, it actually made sense because it encouraged people to use TAG more often.

It really didn't give you THAT much more, probably 30-70k c-bills extra for a good match.

NARC also stacked with this bonus, so a kill that was Narced and Tagged gave you 12k. That added up really fast.

Now the Paul-conomy is back and we're all gonna be space poor until actual fighting brings more c-bills. -_-

They get a cbill bonus like the hero mechs, they're only considered champions because they are regular variants, like the phoenix and founders mechs. I assume both of them will eventually become available for cbills without the income bonus or unique geometry.

:| .... Tag is supposed to be used to help guide missiles to a target... not help guide your lasers to target...

They fixed a broken mechanic... This is a good thing.
To quote the Nov Roadmap:
Rewards 2.0 Bug fixes - There are several items needing fixing including the ability to farm your OWN TAG laser with your non Missile type weapons. There were also problems with Flanking and a few other items. Look for a number of bug fixes in the next patch.
Release Date: Nov 4th Patch.

To quote the patch notes:
- The 'Tag Damage' reward is now applied only to LRMs instead of all weapons.
- The 'Narc Kill' reward now only applies when a kill is done with LRMs instead of any weapon.
- The 'Tag Kill' reward now only applies when a kill is done with LRMs instead of any weapon.

You should be thankful they didn't ban you for using an exploit, how any other online game would. (ie. WoW)

Ahh, thanks for the correction, I missed that. So much for consistency then. They should have gotten an (F) or (P) depending on the oldest pack you bought in that case, or something new like
(R)
for 'reward' ( guess that would break the forum). The (C) tag is bad anyway because clan refits of IS mechs have the (C) in their official designation see the AS7-D(C)

Exploit?
You mean standard function?

No extra means were taken to manipulate a system, that is not a bannable exploit. It's no more an exploit than meta builds.

It doesn't need to be extra steps to be an exploit...

Your own weapons caused tag bonuses to get fired off... Your Own Weapons...
That sounds like an exploit to me.

A mistake on pgi's part was made and players took advantage of it.

No need to go overboard
