but the animation i'm not impressed. it looks like the strides of the mech is always slow motion. only mechwarrior4 made the fast mechs look natural when running fast and walking slow. it looks like the torso is floating from the ground and sometimes there are scenes that the mech goes slow so only one feet is touching the ground and the other feet is floating but the mech is still in upright position.

See for that I would have to disagree. That's a Railgun when a Gauss Rifle is something completely different.

As you can see here. (The Gauss Rifle is also called a Coilgun.)

Maybe take this sound for a half second (fast forward a bit to get past the guy explaining) followed by a big bang as the projectile goes supersonic.. Like in the rail gun video.

I'm pretty sure there would be a difference though.
With the railgun, there's friction with the rails which may cause a sound, and possible arcing between the rails, which is probably the source of that fizzle sound after the railgun is fired in the video. you wouldn't get that from a gaussrifle... what you may hear is the capacitors recharging after the rifle has been fired, and the hum you mentioned, similar to what you can hear close to high voltage installations (such as powerlines or transformers)...
so much for smart-assing... ^^

On that note, the animations in MW4 look so natural because they are very organic. The mechs actually move like they were animals of some sort, not machines piloted by humans. By MW4 standards, a mech couldn't make one step without knocking the pilot unconsious.
MWO-animations may seem floaty, but with regards to that it is much more realistic!
Those are 25-100ton robots we're talking about, with a human inside, who's supposed to control them...
Maybe it's just me, but their movements should resemble that.

2:19 Anyone know what variant that Atlas is? it has an AC on the left torso, I thought there weren't and ballistic hard-points on that side, only missiles.
Lovin' how much the Atlas dwarfs that Jenner
