Nope, not for two game years. Then we should be getting some ER medium lasers too.

Got another 10 years time till those guys come out.

And don't hope for them too soon. Because by the time they come out, clan's will have their heavy medium lasers.

Hope people are ready for 1 ton ML's that hit as hard as PPC's.

2 second burn times!

Pulses get a -1 to hit, and a ~60% burn time. Heavies get a +1 to hit...oh my...

Pulses are actually -2, but that still doesn't leave heavy lasers in a good position...

It's actually quite a few years before we really see advanced development of weapons systems that can compete against the Clan versions. Most of the major competing systems happen near the end of the Invasion and during the following years. Both from the IS and Clan research industries.

Here's a list of years and weapons as they appear in the canon.

So, lots of systems and weapons to arrive and events that need to happen for some of these to be built.

Arrow IV will cause a melt down of cry babies on the forums with "omg nerf the MadCat MII and LongBows" and what happens when all the little mechs can run around with duel mini-gauss....you want all this stuff.......but really you don't.

A lot of the newer tech would be completely broken in MWO though. Sure, people want it, but that doesn't mean it's good for the game. RACs in particular. Jam or not, it spits out shells faster than our current CUAC/5 doing full damage per shell.

I don't see why the resistance pack couldn't have come with the next gen of IS mechs and stolen clan tech. Meh.

If I were PGI, I would release CW, and use it to create "time jumps", by having scenarios for different time periods in the MechWarrior/btech universe. So basically starting off with a 3050 scenario, then adding a 3025, and then doing some future hops, and maybe a couple more backwards into star league era.

Essentially changing the colours on a map for each era and doing something around factions/faction selection. There should be restrictions in to prevent mechs/equipment use in a scenario where they are unavailable.

Every time a scenario is added they could use it as an excuse to release a mech pack containing mechs and equipment suitable for that era, which means that it can tie in very well to the revenue generating process.

I can see something along those lines happening, anyway, and I think that there's no point worrying about new weapons until CW is out.

Nothing has been leaked or spoken of for the IS and what ComStar has been hiding from the entire verse.
- It's not until the Clans are 'challenged' by ComStar that we find out about the advanced Tech of the ComGuards.

Still a few years in the timeline before that event happens, but the shear amount of Mech chassis and Tech that were considered 'LosTech' will suddenly be in play again.
- Advanced enough to give the Clan's pause about just what to do now.

Following his batchall with ComStar's Precentor Martial, Anastasius Focht, ilKhan Ulric Kerensky sent the following message to the warriors of Clan Wolf and to the Khans of the other invading Clans.
"The Precentor Martial of ComStar has offered challenge from his Com Guards to all the Clans who's forces have invaded the Inner Sphere. If we defeat them, they will cede the court of the Star League to our control and give all of ComStar's considerable resources to our cause. Terra can be ours within the year.
"In return, The Precentor Martial demands that if his Com Guards defeat us, we must halt our advance at the current front line for the next fifteen years. I have accepted these terms."


ComStar pilots Battlemechs from the days of the Star League-though these units do not compare to our Omnimechs, they are far superior to the Battlemechs of the Successor States. This battle will be neither short nor easy, and I advise that we prepare for a long campaign.
