I just wanted to say that the rewards seem a lot more balanced with the tweaks this week. Slightly higher on average, and without the massive fluctuations. Even support lights can make really good money/XP with assists.
I think it is in a very good place.

Agreed. I made 3.6k xp in a losing game in a champion mech with premium time. If I'd won, which we lost on caps and couldn't find the last Ice Ferret, that would have been 7.2k xp! The base without bonuses was 2k.

I do like the new rewards as well. At least you don't have to be the king of damage in a match to make a fair bit of money and xp.

still running, on average, 35% less than before. don't much care about xp, all my mechs are mastered and i likely won't purchase more since i don't earn enough to cover much more than consumables.

I view consumables as purchasable handicaps. Every time I pull the trigger on one I'm say, "Yup, I have to pay to win this advantage," which is totally true. If consumables were meant to be spammed they wouldn't cost resources and there wouldn't be different levels of them. If you're not making cbills from matches then try to curb your enthusiasm on your consumable use.
TL;DR consumables are purchasable advantages, no one is forcing you to use them.
