Is it only me thats having huge problems with the hitreg at the moment? Not only do I get hit in the back when my attacker faces me straight on, doesn't matter which chassi I'm using, but unloading full 40+ mplas alphas into the chest of anything without it doing more than chip the paint is really not that fun. Just had a game where I unloaded 7mplas into the chest of a frisky Spider, several times with him running straight at me, without any real effect.. Starting to be really frustrating.

I'm playing from Sweden, got about 130ish ping, so I'm not asking for perfection, it would be nice, but not realistic. But dying time and time again due to wonky hitreg and the fact that lasers seems to be unplayable, is starting to get really annoying. Its somewhat better with ACs, but even there I'm not seeing the dmg that should be there. Shooting almost cored mechs with dual gauss straight in the chest while brawling without any effect shouldn't be happening. All the while I can get cored from llas passing over my chest while I still have armour left, and torso twisting like a mad man. Ohh well, hope they install some EU servers soon and that will lessen the problems. Rant over..

Sorry for the poor English :)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but HITREG has been spotty for several weeks. I notice it most with PPCs and Lasers.

No hitreg is good! Just my lasers don't working... And IS Lights have about a +60 tons of Armor... (Except me... I am dead after 2 hit..)

I'm not sure about hitreg... its at least partially off. Mostly for me the issue has been teleporting/rubberbanding and seeing mechs "moonwalk''. Very annoying to be piloting and to just end up face against a wall while getting shot in the back.

If your PING is over, say 100, you will likely have LOTS of issues including Hit Reg.

If ping is 30-50, shouldnt be any problems at all.

Its usually the first problem. I guess its ameasure of how fast info is sent in micro-seconds(?). Lower number is better.

Now, if it jumps, i likely isnt even PGI's faut(yeah...insert sarc here) but usually your ISP throttling you.
When my GF is online watching movies and i play MWO during prime time, my ping will bounce from 50-2000.

At that point i can only laugh.

My ping is usually 80-100 and mine is fine till I reach +150. then I start rubber banding, and at 200 I am lucky if I can face the same direction for 20 seconds without skipping around and my weapons shoot straight through or vanish all together.

My ping is stable at about 130. Before the servers were relocated to the new datacenter I had about 200.
Hitreg wasnt perfect but playable with 200 back then. Its worse now. It used to be much better right after the relocation but the last few patches totally wrecked it. Its a complete mess. Damage disappearing, shots into the ground killing enemies and damage registering on the wrong side of the mech.
No rubberbanding though.

Firing multiple weapons at the same time or in rapid succession is especially bad. Some shots from a bigger volley usually disappear.
Its just MWO for me. Other shooters are much better. I remember playing TFC with about 150ms and not having any problem at all. I knew exactly how much to lead. MWO is different, it seems like one has to lead depending on the targets latency.
Heck even Q3 on ISDN wasnt that bad.

I have noticed it with PPC. Dropped 9PPC into a Cent's CT as he stood there. I was confused as to why he wasn't seeking shelter. Usually 3 PPC alpha to the chest gets them running, then I noticed no damage taken. Fired again. Still nothing.... Again.... Red armor. O.o

Only happens from time to time. But I have pretty good ping. Usually in the 30-50 ballpark. 70s at worst.

Also from Sweden.

Lasers are as broken as they were when they moved data centers. I can't deal any damage with them, but no one can damage me with lasers, either.

My ping is usually around 50.... so I can't play a light because I literally have a anti-lag autoaim assist.

My lasers don't work on lights and I've had my legs swept out from under me in an Assault while they completely ignored my lasers from the front.

I play at 40-50 ping, and even I have noticed hitreg problems. Also, Ravens that teleport all over the place due to lag. Regarding taking front torso damage from behind, that had to do with some of the mechs' ****** hitboxes. Lag may even be helping you in this situation, shaving a little damage off.

As a whole, the servers are hit-and-miss. some days they feel like tournament CSGO servers, other days there's about 1-2 seconds of lag for everything to register.

I hope they fix this soon, I really do.

EDIT: Tweeted Russ about it, he said he would get the guys to look at it. Told me it could be on my end, I rebuttled mentioning that my other group members are having the same problems and that I get 12ms ping to speedtest.net's nearest test server.

60-70 ping here

Lasers don't reg or seem to reg their appropriate damages on anything moving, has been like that for quite a while.

Ballistics are and always have been a little more reliable.

As soon as I or anyone I'm shooting at slows down or stops moving, hitreg gets better and damage starts applying.

But like Pezzer said, it comes and goes and I never know from day to day, hour to hour when my shots are going to actually count.

On the flipside though, everyone seems to reg pretty well against me and I die pretty fast.. alot.

The horrible hitreg in the last few days is another reason why the Thunderbolt cheese build is spreading so rapidly. Pulse lasers don't seem to suffer as badly from it as most weapons.

Approx 250 ping (Australia).

Some games lasers are working perfectly, other games my damage score is much less than expected. SRMs are similar state.

Running around buildings or tight areas sometimes finds me facing directions I was not expecting to be. This usually happens at the worst possible times...

Hitreg could be better but I am still enjoying my games. :)

Cheers
Eboli.

Thats the damage bug i mentioned before. I know when i got it myself, i don't have to fear approx. the next 4 hits into my ct... but unfortunately, I see it more often on opponent mechs. I immediately start to avoid the fight, or go for other parts.
