Speaking about War of the Worlds and giant tripods in general, I bring you some classics:

I know the Jeff Wayne's Martian sound couldn't be used, but I'd pay some MC for that The Tripods sound or something similar to it. It's very nostalgic to me.

Heh, made me check the existing ones in the sound cloud. Steiner one reminds me of Star Control victory ditties. I guess the whole warhorn concept is similar.

Another idea, or more like a source of inspiration, kaiju sounds!


And a more radical idea, Customizable warhorn:

Provide a folder for the player to put his sound clip in. There would be a placeholder too. To prevent abuse and to make it simpler to implement, only the player would hear his own clip. More like a kill notification to the player than the regular warhorns. I'd use it.

Why not simply add the option to upload your own warhorn sound? I realise people would upload their orgasm sounds and all that, but hey, what ever floats your boat..

Personally, I would like to hear that "war of the worlds - the aliens are gonna kill you now" sound, but that's probably trademarked.. so something similar would be cool..

Also, it would be nice to have a command button to play the warhorn when you want to.. What I'm going for is basically the same feeling of dread that war of the worlds mecha-bot-thing instills in its victims when it sounds off..

Also, that way, people could use the warhorns to signal an attack, a push, a defend omega, or a retreat behind the gate..

And please... Add some c-bill buyable warhorns.. Or at least let us win them as faction achievements..

With the release of the Faction Warhorns, I thought that this was worth revisiting. Please PGI, can these be the next set of warhorns?

As a side note, it would probably be best to replace the Barnyard Animals one with a "See-and-Say" instead.

Nice job on the Warhorns PGI! Some of the ones recommended on this thread have been incorporated already in different variations. However, I was hoping we might see the Cavalry Charge bugle make it into the game soon. Any chance of that happening?

I would love the opening "One Punch" screamed out in the intro of One Punch Man. Never considered the Tripod noise but that would be fantastic, too.

As troll you could just have a warhorn that spouts random insults spoken by Megatron.

I know if this was a Source-based game there'd already be warhorns using the Quake sound pack, too.
