Just curious, any other folks from the various Btech MUSE sites still around, and planning to play? i.e BTech3056 or it's predecessor/successors? I've still got the dead-but-could-possibly-be-recovered HDD from the netaccess server in storage somewhere...

Not quite sure how corps/guilds are going to be implemented, but wouldn't mind trying to hook up for some old geezer gaming if anyone else is interested!

Yer, now aka Remf.

Obligatory MW:O question... why no COMSTAR faction? Now THAT would be a founder perk!

I am not a geezer yet! Started in on 3030 but played most of them, Sim site, DJs custom thing with the crawlers and non-BT mechs. And the one where you could orbital drop onto a fight...ahhh...good times.

Nothing like trudging a 3/5 mech 200+ hexes to claim a site and just praying the enemy showed up for some fun...

Character name was Jefferson Daniels, call sign Ix

Jammer, are you out there? ComStar needs your evil Genius to fight the pathetic WoBblies!

Puma vs. Grand Crusader - target right/left torso with Gauss Rife = win. LRM ammo and thin armor... what WERE those goofy fanatics thinking? <evil grin>

The Original Skeet (and I have the Battle Tech Center Mission De-Briefings to prove it!)

Hmm I used to play on Luthien and I think BT3056, I forget. I remember they used to run on Sun SPARCs. IMO 200+ player games > MW3/4/etc.

I was pretty active in the 3027/3028/3030 MUXs back in the later 90's. Those were good times. MWO could learn a lot from the strategic aspects of that game, as well as the more open-world design in regards to attack and defense.

I sysop/hosted the Btech3056 muse for a few years in the early 90's; I basically supplied the hardware (sparcstation1+, later a 2) while some very cool folks at netaccess supplied the fat pipe and co-location. Good Times, tho I was out of the country and had 2k+ pings for most of it...

I think the record we had was ~100 people online at once; there was a resource (device handle?) limit in sunos4.1.3u1 that broke the OS if it went higher than that, IIRC. Toward the end of that site, we were working on a "portal" to offload folks to the follow-on dedicated SIM site for really large scale battles... I think the next host was able to support more (i.e. no hard OS limit).

Really hoping they can field some epic'ly BIG fights in MW:O... anyone happen to know if there wil be voip built-in, or just straight text chat?

In the main MU* thread we are somewhat discussing a MU* unit, need to decide on name, and it will most likely need to be a Merc Corps as it seems that player created faction units will only be put in after launch. Atleast what I can find in the community warfare Q&A.
I do remember the queues on 3056, Especially during those clan vs IS events, and the crashes at those times ;-)

This old recon pilot is still running - might not remember me, but I remember you. We're out here, just scattered a bit.

Yup. And managed to get the spelling for my character's name right this time even! Late to the party tho. Just accidentally found out this was coming a few days ago. Foundered immediately! Looking forward to it and running into (PPCing to death) any old Btech 3056ers out there. ;)

Yup. Started with 3025 and helped build parts of 3056. I miss those days... but at least we are getting a game most of us only dreamed of at the time! :)

My obsession with St. Ives started in 3056... I want my 1st Lancers back! :)
