So this was in the announcement for the sale................

The Inner Sphere gets a new Champion, as the Thunderbolt TDR-9SE(C) is also available. This Eridani Light Horse 'Mech has been redesigned by you, our expert BattleTechnicians, to make it perform optimally on the battlefield. Try it for free or purchase in-game to take advantage of the 30% XP bonus included with all owned Champion 'Mechs.

So ummm... I was looking and was wondering where we can try it for free?... It isn't in the trial mechs?

Anyone know?? Or is this a box of Lies!!! ;)

you are indeed correct, no Thunderbolt champ in the Trial Mechs on my end either. So either whoever wrote the publicity blurb as incorrect in assuming all champs were available as trials, or someone forgot to include it in the trial mech menu in the mechlab.

Champions and Trial mechs are not necessarily the same thing. That being said, for the past year or so, trial mechs have exclusively been champions, which may be leading to some confusion.

The TDR-9SE(C) will be available for Trial as of the November 18th patch.

We're going to update that text.

Wait... "unlocking" is done server side... not client side. I'm not sure if it requires a server restart to accomplish (brief downtime), but that should be able to be turned on to "try out" the trial mech. This occurred when the Griffin wasn't "released on time" (like, 8-9 months ago), except it was for availability for C-bills...

The Trial Mech list should have been designed to rotate and turn off/on at will like the sales... which would make better sense...

It's hard to make a sale when you can't try it out (it's cutting off the nose despite the face kind of deal).
