Ever try to place a specific weapon on a mech only to have another similar weapon in that class swap places? I.E. put a PPC on a Quickdraw on top and a medium laser under it in the chest, come back and the PPC was on the bottom?
We used to have to buy new weapons to get them to sort as we like. Seniority rules, and the oldest weapon you owned went into slot 1.
I think they fixed that. I was able to swap around my large pulse laser and tag laser on the arm of my Centurion AL at will. Hell, I noticed I was able to even re-arrange the heat sinks and weapons inside a mech, despite the fact the order on the mechlab list doesn't even need to do anything.
Or is it just me?

I Think Weapon Sorting On Mechs Is Fixed!?!

Ya know, I saw that the LRM 20 wasn't moving to its less than ideal spot on my highlanders and wondered the same. So, yay? I'm incredibly impressed with the past two updates, so much that I feel it's too good to be true lol.

The issue remains when you have 3 slots for instance and you want to use only the top 2. In the BLR-1G you have 3 energy in each torso. The shoulder mounted energy hard point only become available if you have 3 weapons you slotted in. I've tried it where you throw in a small laser followed by 2 large pulses (or PPCs or whatever). It looks good but when you remove the small laser, the other weapons cascade down into the lowest hard points.
tl;dr We should be able to choose which specific hard point a weapon uses in cases where not all hard points are used.

I wondered about that.
It's still weird though that the hardpoints in my Nova are sorted strangely when it comes to assigning weapon groups, which I thought was caused by the same issue. Setting it up for left and right arms looks something like this:
1
2
1
1
1
1
1
2
2
2
2
2
1
And it doesn't seem to change even when I use different lasers.

I hadn't tested recently but if so, this is AWESOME. I must go test....
