The ui has enough clicks. Every other shooter has this feature. There is no reason for mwo to not have it.

I don't know how you'd word that kind of "shot" without making people giggle all the time.

Well, NOW i'll giggle.
I think the ingame screens could possibly be used for that.
OR - the parts hit on the enemy ragdoll flash more.

If they give Achievement points for it, though, then I think it should have an on-screen prompt to notify you of it. Not an imposing one, but a little pop-up in a corner that gives the achievement name that you just contributed a point toward.

I always watch in amazement how players plug away at a front ct of a dc or afk instead of taking the glass, why does nobody go for it ? Even if you miss the worst you get is that ct you usually aim for anyway
Well most people I see chew off the arms and legs of DCed mechs first, for the extra component destructions and damage padding. Since there is no tangible reward for headshotting an enemy for most of us.

If you had a bigger cockpit with lots of armour, it would potentially be an advantage against people with unreliable aim. Because shots that would normally hit your CT would now be partially "deflected" by a well-armour cockpit. It's kind of like hitting someone's cockpit when you're sniping from 1000 meters away. It's almost a wasted shot, because you know you probably won't hit the cockpit twice anyway.

Agreed.
Have it in the post-game report, sure, but not Unreal Tournament style flashing across the screen and yelling about it.

I thouhgt me and a teammate just killed his CT at the time together, later I watched that record and realised, it was a headshot.
