Terrain and cover are wonderful. The conceal your movement, block enemy fire, etc. It's a great way to move in, and destroy the enemy, staying hidden as much as possible. It's the RIGHT way to succeed, most of the time.

Guess what?

Cowering in one spot? Puckering your sphincter and timidly taking potshots, because you are afraid your paint will get scratched? Guaranteed way to lose. Cowering on the rim of the Caldera? Just asking for the bad man to touch you all over with LRMs.

Why do you think LRMs are so OP? BECAUSE YOU SIT THERE AND TAKE IT.

(yup...... one of them day sin PUGLandia)

Hiding and running away is rewarded.

They live longer, they make easy kills and they get paid more even if its a loss.

Frozen City seems to be one of the worst offenders lately. Often when I get the East side spawn the other team will predictably try to come in from C5 and if they are LRM heavy it turns into WW1 style trench warfare with everyone on our side finding a low spot or building to cower on.

I do this in my BJ-1DC. Except I move from cover to cover, peppering with the ridiculous ROF of my AC5's.

I got 4 kills the other night, a Dire Wolf included.

I dont understand why people play like that, it aint even the camping sniper hiding on a hilltop kind of gameplay its just standing there behind a wall or rock studying the textures.

I see it almost every pug match and it aint even playing the game.

I do love it when the PUGs do that on that particular map. Preferably both sides.

The WubShee performs best under those circumstances, maybe I'll even get those 12 kills one of these days. 9 is the record so far, although people have the tendency to follow the green thing killing everything, which does put a hamper on the kill score.

Why bother spotting and Brawling, when the Pro Players can just play Light mechs for you? Who wants to drop their Kill death Ratio in their assault mech? <_< These are the things that bug me most right now.

People just want Pro Light Mechs to Piggy Back them to victory. So they take missile boat Assaults because they Hear, they are "O.P."

The result is the massive lack of brawlers right now because people Perceive Missile boats as the meta... Sigh*
At this point, I'm growing that attitude of "Stick it to the Pugs" in Community warfare because I'm tired of them bombing the games due to being super timid.

on the Other hand THERE IS NO GOOD TUTORIAL MISSION :(

Additionally, playing Light Mechs and playing Brawler Assaults in Pugs matches is NOTHING like playing those mechs in Group mode 5-10s.
There is a big discrepancy how 12mans play Assaults and Lights compared to Pug Drops.
I feel like Pug drops are Ultra Sensitive to Trends and Forum banter.
Latest Hipster talk is LRMS are OPs

New Players learn Assaults as Snipers and Missile Boats only to unlearn that in Mid-level elo and then to relearn that again in 12 mans

I brawl most of the time.... i have taken to when i notice my whole team is hiding and not advancing, i lead the charge....if no one follows me, oh well, quick death, next mech, next match. If they do follow, nearly guaranteed victory, or at least some face-wrecking good times.

So if you see me, and i live up to my name, chances are, i got bored of hiding behind that rock next to your rock.

I'm a coward because I'm a brawler that doesn't want to constantly lose frontal armor taking shots with my short range weapons because my team doesn't want to push..?

Because they/we know that if you push up the rest of the team will not back you so you die instantly and get no rewards for the match.

It's a huge catch-22 and it infuriates me.

I'm always confused when I see a team with only myself and one or two others taking shots at the enemy. Cover is great, but you gotta control space too.

See the post above yours.

Food for thought.

I run a brawler most often too. Still find a way to not sit on my thumbs.
