LCT-3S has a similar rate of fire with quad SRM2. Nasty, nasty machines, these SRM lights.

Edit: And yes, the 8x SPL Firestarter will still kill you faster. It's the most lethal Light 'Mech in the game, I think:

It's definitely the most fun I've had in a light in... like a year. I will be really sad if they tone down it's quirks. It really needs them to pull out of the gutter after the MG nerf.

Well given when LRMs are allowed to do this kind of damage they get nerfed Id expect it in the next pAtch

Huginn has always been my favorite mech once I got the hang of SRMs. It was nice before, so I cackled in glee when I saw it was T5.

That said, I don't think these extreme 50% and 40% quirks will last.

Ahh that poor Summoner.... trying to compute how he is ***'d by a Huginn. It's like he's having a seizure and can't respond.

I am sure the Oxide now has the gatling srm 4's also!

Assuming Level 5 SRM4 cooldown modules, you would need all 4 SRM4 launchers on the OXIDE to come near the DPS of the Huginns 2xSRM4s. This pretty much means the Huginn can have Max Engine / Jump Jets / 6.5+ Tons SRM Ammo, whereas the OXIDE will struggle comparatively with the extra 4 tons needed for all 4 launchers.

After more rounds with this thing, I've decided it's still not overpowered. Even in stomps I rarely get over 550 damage. It's now squarely in the Tier 1-2 stage now however, and probably doesn't need buffs beyond a reason to use MGs again.

I must agree on that. Huginn is an overpowered killing machine only against slow stray assaults, like Atlas, Dire Wolf and Stalker, in a 1 on 1 duel against another light or medium, you need to be smart. If the assaults are supported (like they should) and you can't find any other stray mech to peck to the death, you'll do a way better job in a twin large laser RVN-3L. Huginn is just a lot more fun to play than sniping from a kilometer away. Behind a mountain. Under ECM.

I am also perfectly fine with such a tiny SRM beast. Get more people playing lights!

As said before, this mech is only so highly effective against certain mechs and careless players, I see nothing wrong here, it is still squishy. And fighting against such a tiny beast looks much more fun than fighting against the usual dual gauss Whale.

I honestly don't understand why people want to see more lights, makes this game feel more like unreal tournament than Mechwarrior.. i much prefer only seeing mediums and up with a few lights occasionally.

I've seen Direwolves dish the same damage in the same amount of time. Do those need a nerf?

If nothing else, the Huginn is now exemplary of where lights should be: trade armor and hard-points for speed, but still be equally viable in combat when compared against larger machines. The 'Mech is only OP against pilots who don't know how to deal with it or pilots whose teams don't know how to support them (because a good team supports its members).

Those assault mechs in the vid were totally stupid... they deserved to die!

Nevertheless, I like the Huginn^^

It's a killing machine against PUGs, but against teams it's only a bit better than before.

Just wanna say, traditional missiles would be absolute garbage in space. they don't have a shock wave or transfer heat very well because of the lack of air.

lolwat

First, missiles is just a way to deliver the package, whatever it holds. And it's a good way to do it, because you can control it. Second, you don't need air for the modern warheads to work.

So totally blasting apart a Kitfox and a Spider as your first two victims translates into it's only good against assaults?

That kitfox didn't stand a chance, even if he was more aware of what was going on. you just machine gun-srm4'd his legs off
