Or mist lynx as some will say. Do you think it will be decent or good? I've heard that its quite big for its size, so I question if PGI is going to follow the actual size or resize it to what it should be. Its a 25 tonner, decent speed, moderate weapons, has ECM. It looks like a good light mech, the thing I am concerned about mostly will be the size of the mech itself. if it is too big it wouldn't be useful, but if its properly sized it might be one of the best clan lights.

I am tempted to buy the koshi collection because I am a huge fan of the Clan lights, just concerned about how the mech will end up size wise

Its not decent speed, its terrbile speed for a 25 ton mech. But it partially makes up for that with an exceptional 6 JJs. It will be decent, and probably pretty damn fun.

How would you know if its large for its size or not, I havent seen any pics. Do you know something I dont??

I know everything you dont!
But I heard for its weight its pretty big, its probably an unjust rumor, but I have no experience with lore, and when I checked the battletech wiki It didnt list the size, but I might have missed it. If its the size of the locust, then I think it will be pretty decent and fun to play, but if its the size of a cicada I can't imagine it doing very well.

It WILL be bigger than a locust I promise that, I would put it right between a commando and a kitfox, that would be a good bet.
Or actually just a little bit smaller than a kitfox to simplify it.

why does everybody think it'll be so big ?

Light mechs (- kit fox, adder) are generally sized well.. And they've shown us recently that they can size mediums reasonably well (Vindicator, Ice Ferret)

Well that is reassuring. I wish PGI could just release a size chart for their mechs. Doesn't even have to show the model, just a bar graph with sizes. for some mechs the size is the deciding factor for its viability.

It will probably need quirks, like the Adder/Nova/Summoner.

(Hell, please do give it a rapidfire ERLL with extra range.. :P)

I'm expecting it to be sub-par at best.

It will be yet another Clan mech that wished omnimech restrictions had stayed in TT land.

Consider what I know now about the heat of 4 CERMED on the Ice Ferret is like (ideally maxing out on DHS on that), the 5.5 tons and limited hardpoints make it a harder build.

With less speed and less armor to boot.

Cute Fox is nearly twice the size of the Spider; in the worst dimension. It can't fit under the HPG ramps; Jenners can.

As for it's functionality, I think I'm relegating it to ERPPC poptarting, with a ERML as backup. Strip the ECM arm, since it won't do you much good.

Other less trolly, but more suicidal, options include 3 ERMLs, 2 SRM4s/2s with +-1 ton of ammo depending on your launcher size. This one is Jesus Box capable.

It is going to depend on size. If it is the correct size, basically the size of a Commando then it is likely be at least decent. If it is bigger then its toast especially before speed tweak. 113 kph is the before tweak speed. 124 kph is sort of ok though, as long as it is spider or commando small.

Firepower will actually be pretty decent. As I found out with my Ice Ferret, the extended ranges Clan medium lasers can engage at make alot of difference from a survivability standpoint plus hit above their weight compared to IS weapons. Only issue they have it they are also massively hotter which means weight savings has to go into DHS. Mist Lynx with only 10 DHS stock might have trouble dealing with this heat which might be an issue.

6.5 tons free to use for weapons and DHS so I am thinking maybe 3 C-ER ML, 1 C-ER SL, 3 extra DHS. 26 damage alpha on a 25 ton mech and 21 damage of it capable of hitting out to 440m (with range module) might very well offset its slower speed (again after tweak, 113 kph before tweak is going to just suck.)

Honestly the speed issue might make the Mist Lynx the only mech in the game that really needs to use GXP to unlock Tweak ASAP to be any good.

Someone remind me what the free tonnage is after maxing armor again? I need to prelab this desperately.

IIRC it was 6.5 tons.

That strange decimal can be handled by either using an ammo-based weapon (half-ton of ammo) or using an ERSL (most likely for 4 energy hardpoint builds).

You know... there's only 3 builds I can come up with on the Koshi. While there may be some variations... there are literally not that many options.

Yes, I've actually figured out how to max out on the ballistic RA on the Koshi-Prime.

It has to be. There's no way in heck I'd want to drive a Firestarter sized 25 tonner.... well, maybe (if there's a doubling of the speed tweak as a quirk, then all is well).

So I'm gonna ask, but I'm sure the answer will be no.

If I buy the koshi package, and it ends up being terribly scaled, can I request a refund before it comes out. like if in the art and previews it ends up being way to big, can I get a refund from support as long as it hasn't been released. Or will they just be like "sorry you paid for it"
