After quirks the environment has become pretty interesting. Some builds, like the Wubabolt, have actual strengths and weaknesses. Other builds remain generally very strong, and the dire whale is still stupid (yes I own one with 5 UAC/5s). The DW just simply has catastrophic DPS at all ranges, without any real draw back in terms of weapon ranges.

True, but even though my Jenner F didn't get juicy quirks, the FS9-A, and H did, making it even easier to get behind and easily core a Dire Whale.

8 SPL on the FS9-A
6 MLs on the FS9-H with a massive heat bonus.
4 MPls on the JR7-K with both a heat and a recycle bonus
SRM4s on the RVN-H that is so ridiculous, you need to actually see the videos.
MPLs on the RVN-4X with recycle and heat bonuses

If anything, the TTK versus a Dire Whale in a light that's actively hunting for juicy targets has dropped dramatically and they get paid for doing it now. The new Swamp map is going to be a light mech's wet dream from what I've seen thus far.

Victors, now that they got their torso twist speed back its difficult to win when one targets you.

After a period of thought, I realized that I do not have one. Huh.

If it is only annoying, then ERLL Lights, and Dual Gauss Jager. Mostly because they pop back into cover by the time I aim at them.

Hmmm.

I think apprehension levels depend on the mech you pilot. I've got a soft spot for mediums at the moment, the BJ especially. Usually i'm secure in my ability to dance around and flank more dangerous opponents (especially Dire-Wolves, which can pretty much one-shot me) but the Wub-Bolt can either take advantage of a single well placed alpha to ruin me, or chain fire and DPS me into the dirt.

If i'm in my Dakka Yagers, I'm cautious of DireWolves, and that's it. Any mech that falls under my crosshairs is cause for mad cackling, not panicked button mashing.

HEY! Remember that awesome Awesome fight we had against each other in the desert? I remember us both chain firing PPC's at each other, but midway through as I was frantically trying to dodge your incoming fire whilst filling the sky with my own, it struck me that we were like Imperial Stormtroopers blazing away at each other, and I lost my ****.

I'm actually quite wary of facing an Awesome now, especially if it's running cool.

Yep, I remember that fight. After you retreated, I managed to make a Dire Whale on the ridge to back away as well, but then I overheated like a noob. :P

I pilot mostly Assaults and Heavies and tend to favor LRMs, hence I find long ranged mechs that are mobile enough to pop out, shoot, and pop back, very annoying.

Misery: The moment I eye a Misery on the enemy team I try and focus it because they can be deadly. I proudly run one my self, I rarely run below 700 damage in it. PPC and Gauss builds seem to be popular with it, But my 3 LL + AC20 can still do some mighty terrifying work.

Awesome: The PPC Awesomes I try to avoid any chance I get, the moment I get within its line of sight I know I'm going to be melted relatively soon.

Huginns: I once considered the Huginn to be mediocre, but the DPS it can put out with the quirks makes me given them considerable caution.

Banshee's because they just don't f'ing die. Banshee at 53%? Yeah, I'll jump in and brawl...oh god why doesn't it die?!?

Random light mechs on the other team. Only because 5 of my teammates will run off and chase it for 3 minutes. Ton for ton the most effective mech on the field when they pull a pug train to the far reaches of the map.

When piloting my 3L, I am in constant fear of Embers and Jenners coz I know if one, or worse, two of them go after me, I'm in a lot of trouble.

I need to rebuild my AWS8Q with 6PPCs again. It was a beast before and suppressed whole teams. Although now that the zues will actually be in the game his name will have to change :( I like that I have to fear the medium mechs again. I am primarily a medium pilot but whenever I piloted anything bigger I always just sort of laughed at them and shot them to pieces but I think that is beginning to change. Also the surprisingly effective LL locust XD

I do like the Thunderwub. I still run mine in the pre-quirk setup of torso mounted 5 MPLasers and 1 LPLaser in the arm. I may go to 2 MPLasers in the arm now with the longer range MPLasers in the quirk setup. Maybe once I buy a MPLaser Range Module.

Anycase, yea turning a corner and coming face to face with a Boom Jager or a Dire Whale is rather disheartening. I hate those the most. Nothing else bugs me that much. I may hate a LRM spammer, but I don't fear it.

Every time I see a Jager close in my first thought is 'please no double meat'. Mind you I drive one myself.:D

For me it's mostly situation. A lot of it depends on what I am playing at the time.

I don't want anything with AC40 or more than or 4+ SRM 4 or 6 launchers anywhere near me. If they don't kill me a single shot can leave me crippled or otherwise vulnerable for his teammates to finish the job. Been a while since I saw a splatcat, but man back in the day.

Dual Gauss builds are scary if i'm being forced into an engagement where I can't get close. Especially if I'm in a brawler and my team has decided to play the we'll sit at max range and peek out from behind rocks exchanging fire game. poking my head out trying to find a way to get close enough to use my weapons might put my armor in the red from a single hit.

I dread getting caught in the open in front of Dakka heavy builds like the U-ac5 Direwolf, or the old Ac2 Jaggers (don't see that so much any more either but again back in the day... ouch). They might not kill you but your screen shakes so bad you can't see whats going on or respond and it will strip a great deal of your armor very quickly, leaving you easy pickings for on of their allies.

Likewise getting caught in the open with no ECM and an LRMaggedon mech gunning for you. I only fear the Stalker when I can't get anywhere close to it due to allies, but being forced to keep my head down or suffer swarms of LRM when you have a team who isn't willing to push in enough to deal with the problem just spells doom.

on the other side of things, nothing I fear more then ECM when piloting a mech with LRM or SSRM as a core weapon group. Just having lots of ECM on the other team can make you helpless and useless.

I avoid engaging with Stalkers, because their durability, and never attack a Dakka Dire Wolf if it sees me at the same time. Dual Gauss Jagers are also a priority to kill if I see one. If I'm in my LRM Troll or my Raven, I fear the Firestarters and Jenners. I hate Storm Crows, so they don't go on this list, but they are a ******* to kill, and pack a ton of firepower for their weight.

Perkocalypse has been the most fun I've had with this game since I started in open beta. I have way too many mechs (92), and suddenly they are all interesting again! And my biggest, most pleasant surprise so far has been the AWS 9M. This mech is now an ERPPC deathboat. It is now a formidable mech to drive and to face off against. That they made this mech, um, awesome tells me that good times are ahead.

Hmm...

For me, it's any Spider, or the Ember.

Mostly because I know either I'm about to get kited/danced to death, or I have to chase them across the map for the next 5 minutes until I finally fully delimb their tiny zombie forms.

AFAIK, it's impossible to mount 6 missile launchers on a Timber Wolf.

Not any one mech in particular, but.....I fear streaks. As a light pilot, you fear streaks. Especially if they come in bunches. Nothing else really scares me.

Quickdraws. If anybody was still using those, that means they know what they're about. And now the get a whole mess of quirks? No thanks. If I see one and I don't have backup, I stay away. I don't know if it's effective or not, and I'm not keen to find out alone.
