I am not going to lie ... I barely notice warhorns anymore. I even have them but forget to move them from mech to mech.

Better question: Do i have to hear your wife or perhaps girlfriend screaming out loud?

No? No thanks then.

I made this when war horns were revealed, as a sign of awful things to come.

They're just cringeworthy and I'd just find it embarrassing to have one equipped to be honest.
You want a range increase? That's fine, give me a disable button.

I dont care much about the range aslong as everyone spectating me gets to hear it, aswell as myslef. I love most of the sounds they are quite ominous, which is perfect.

I just want my IS Joker laugh warhorn ... let the Clamers know how I really feel when I kills them.

These are the Warhorns you want.

When they added warhorns I thought MWO had finally sunk to a new low. I mean most of the cockpit items are awful enough. But to me it was like, oh, you can't see how obnoxious my cockpit is, so now I need to blast this horn in your face just in case you didn't think this game was getting cheesy.

However, to be honest, the only ones I ever really see are kind of a cool effect. Not canon (I don't think), but could be an interesting spin on lore. I'm sure the Stuka has been mentioned somewhere -- the whole terror weapon thing. There are worse things that have been added to the lore over the decades. I draw the line at the stupid horns (surat, etc.), but the ones people seem to gravitate to don't bother me. The only time they piss me off is when I end up soloing a mech in a glorious duel only to have the last few points of structure vulched by an an idle "teammate", followed by the horn. I'm sure trolling your own team wasn't an intended effect.

If the effect was made more eerie, like in your WotW tube, it would almost make the Clans seem more...tribal. I like that. Techno Lord of the Flies type thing.

I don't own a warhorn, nor am I a Clanner, but I think they are cool and should be heard by all. I completely agree its the psychological aspect of them that is most appealing. Hearing your team die all around you, or hearing your team trample the enemy only adds more immersion if you ask me.

Instead of griping about the sound, you should be following around, while getting assists, from those player(s) who's WarHorns are going off a lot. LOL! ;)

No, they're annoying and were a terrible idea to begin with.

And if they could most people would click the check box to mute them. For a while I considered asking if it was possible to delete the sound files (replace them).

*Edit* I did always like the Miami vice intro that timed the drums hitting the scene with some bouncy breasts.... but cant' find that version on youtube.

That's some epic win right there; those are some great choices but I have a few alternates.

As far as intro music goes I think this is also hard to beat.

I'd love to change the start music of each mach for MWO to be the first five notes of this:

Now they have the juvenile warhorns, when are they implementing a "teabag" module?

That feature has been in the game since before open beta. Simply stand over defeated foe's CockPit and cycle power... Wha-la.

Maybe they should have a check box for that. I think the Warhorn really does more for the person doing the killing than the person being killed. It's about as pleasing to hear as a vuvuleza quartet and it doesn't strike fear into anyone's heart, it just tells me I got killed by a whale.

No....

They are a stupid / annoying feature of the current game...

I would like to have them completely eliminated. But, since they won't at least give me an option to mute them as I feel that they detract from gameplay...

They've never annoyed me.
Chat is often--especially right around the time a mech is destroyed--far more annoying and obnoxious.

I think the deep fog horn-like alternatives are far more appropriate for gigantic walking machines of death, but the others are acceptable. Too bad they don't have a toggle like music, sound effects and such.

Bring on a global war horn so that everyone on the battle field can share in my glory of victory or sulk in their defeat. I want a war horn that sounds so load that pilots puke in their cockpits from disorientation. I want a war horn that sounds "neaner neaner neaner"

Unless I lose then I want silence.
