ECM takes up 1 ton and also leaves your right arm as the sole component capable of carrying weapons:
2 ballistic, 1 missile (total waste)
2 missile, 1 energy (2 SSRM2 + 1 ton ammo + ERML?)
2 energy (2 MPL?)
Would leave you room for AMS in the left arm with a half-ton ammo, which isn't really enough.
Terrible hard points.

Honestly, I don't expect these to be carrying ECM all that often.

friends like it when their friends legs have almost no hitboxes (hopefully)

they better count at leg, too, not torso.

I plan on ONE of mine to do so, but it will also be my NarcNinja. Otherwise, naw, lazors.

No.
See, this is already worse than a Kitfox (closest mech that tends to not run torso weapons).
If you're running the ECM arm, losing the RA will make you practically useless weaponswise. I guess being helpful with ECM would be all you could do then, but that's it.
In essence, the mech becomes easily neutered, and although Lights in general are neutered pretty easily, this is exceptionally much easier to accomplish when something actually hits you.
In comparison to the Commando... it still has CT weaponry (minus the TDK) despite being easier to kill through the side torso due to IS XL engine design.
my whole point was : armless and weaponless beats being dead...if i've got cherry red center torso internals, you bet im going to try to take the damage into my arm. and having a larger arm that CAN do that, isn't going to be a bad thing in that situation.
we'll have to see how the hitboxes behave, but if this things CT is a gauss magnet, yep, im going to turn armside when i pop around a corner and meet a DW, until i can get traction to GTFO of there...

My thoughts:
- Finally a light mech with proper size. Thank you based god.
- Looks pretty cool from the front.
- Weapons look in scale, so the lasers actually look huge, because they're not in proportion to the mech. That's a good thing! I just hope a PPC won't look tiny on this thing.
- Skinny legs look silly, but will hopefully be hard to hit.

Exactly, I don't see this mech shinning using ECM and with only 6.5 tons available to it, AMS just takes up too much of the total free tonnage.
Now to be fair, even using ECM is is probably at least as good as an ECM spider. Keep in mind two MPL is roughly equivalent to 2 IS LLs minus about 100m in range. This is more firepower than your typical ECM spider mounts and considering it is smaller than the Spider they should be comparable except for speed. Speed is the kicker especially before it gets tweaked. 113 kph is going to be painful and most spiders will run 140 untweaked and 150+ tweaked.
However, mount 3 ER MLs and maybe some SRMs and you got pretty potent firepower for a 25 ton light mech.

It won't. It provides slightly more firepower than a Commando or Spider.
Neither mech would ever be considered "powerhouses", so would take far more time and effort to do the same work compared to a Raven, Firestarter, or Jenner.

The arm on a Mist Lynx while maxed is only 24 points total when you factor in internals. The Commando already tends to lose its arms as is (they are easy to shoot off). I don't think you grasp the magnitude of the situation. It doesn't have the durability that you'd want, even if you forgo the ECM.
In Light vs Light combat, it will be easily caught up to (unless you're running a Light @ < 130kph w/o Speed Tweak for whatever reason) and be disabled far more easily. How hard do you think it is to remove the arm of a Jenner, Raven, or Firestarter (with the FS having the biggest arms of the trio)? Now compare that to the Commando or Spider... those things would still have their CT weaponry if worse comes to worse (although admitted limited due to ammo dependency) and still chase you down. This is what you are actually up against.
The only way the Mist Lynx survives is a damage reduction buff to the arms or "funky hitboxes".
Remember, this will be the ONLY mech that has zero torso weapons in the game unless, we get magical/fictional omnipods. While that is a unique trait, it is also a bad thing to be a part of in MWO. It's one thing to not take advantage of the torso hardpoints... it's another when you have no such options.

You are underestimating the firepower levels a bit like most people tend too.
Keep in mind that 4 C-ER MLs are roughly equivalent to 6 IS MLs plus generally have about 130m longer range. That is quite a bit of firepower for a 25 ton mech.
However yeah the speed is going to be an issue. 113 kph before tweak is going to be tough to work with for leveling purposes and even 124 kph is going to be barely adequate.
Also as you point out, those arms are going to draw lots of fire just because they are so big. This would actually be a positive except all your firepower is in the arms so losing an arm is going to be a pretty major reduction in damage capability. Losing two, and with the size they are, losing two is likely to be common, renders you pretty useless.
