I was wondering if there were any suggestions on which mech to use for ERPPCs. Preferably a pair as the primary weapon. I used to use a CPLT-K2 with either 2xerppc and 2LPL or 2AC5 and had switched to a TDR-9S with 2ERPPC and an AC10. Currently i'm trying out the K2 with a gauss.

9S http://mwo.smurfy-ne...47b34266f199813

Of course the thunderbolt is better for erppc primary due to quirks and is generally more survivable since it can split damage between components and i can take tonnage off the the left arm of the thud, but I am comfortable taking more armor off of the cat. The thud has a yaw arm but that can throw me off when firing all three weapons.

Are there any contenders for this role other than an awesome? Is there any purpose left for poor beloved K2 (i already have a dual gauss direwhale, so no need for another slice of that cheese)? And what do you like to pair with ppc?

I suppose a firebrand could hold up, but i'm not spending on a hero at this point. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4c67ff3b30902d5

CTF 1x or one of the dragons, they're both fast (for an IS heavy) and can hold a pair easily with some backup weapons and heatsinks. The 3D is expensive but comes with xl and i think dhs with jumpjets, if mounted on the torso it was at one time a descent poptart. The 1x i used to run around with 3x erppcs mostly for lulz though. But, if you like ppc, Awesomes are stupid fun for ppc at the moment.

I can use this to great effect despite the low slung PPCs.

Good point the 1x can go slightly faster and cooler/sec than the thunderbolt i listed with the same build and xl325 and keep half the quirk. Or the 3D could jump with the xl280 and have a bonus pair of ml running hot with gauss but no quirk.

9s is better imo for a pure erppc build 2 high slots make sniping better than using the ctf.

Im using a 1 erppc 1 gauss 4 ml build. very low to none heat and high dps.

I'm using one of my mad cats as a quad ER PPC build, but I hate how low the arms are on it. Still fun as hell though!
Had one of the best games on HPG map.

I also used to be a PPC fan, ER or Normal didn't matter to me. But as PGI increased the heat of this energy weapon I don't use them anymore nowadays. Shame!

After the speed nerf the PPCs are too inaccurate without a +velocity quirk. They are severely buggy now too, much more than Lasers or ACs. I am just staying away from them until they get zero damage bug fixed. High mounts on the 9s look best for just two. AWS-9M for 3x ERPPCs.
