light: firefly, hussar, javelin
medium: sentinel, vulcan, assassin
heavy: champion, crossbow
assault: nightstar, rampage, shogun
I listed them in order of my preference, although the hussar is almost a novelty mech

Replace the Hussar by the Mongoose, the Crossbow by the Lancelot, the Nightstar by the Cyclops, the Rampage by the Charger and the Shogun by the Crockett - and you will have a winner list.

well, I was looking specifically at 30/40/60 tonners mostly. the lancelot looks like a good 60 tonner I overlooked.
as for assaults we already have a few 80 tonners, and the crockett would need legs that aren't so easy to hit, to be an attractive buy. we just got another 90 tonner too, but I am looking forward to the cyclops at some point.

I know the Shogun has impressive hardpoints, but it is too rare. The Crockett (another jumping 85 tonner), at least we can find some numbers (specially in Comstar).

Actually these are the weapons of the next Clan Assault Omnimech: the Turkina (A configuration).
The Mad Cat Mk II will take some time to debut in the game because the first variant is from 3066 (other in 3069 and 3082), some good years ahead. BTW, the Mad Cat Mk II is NOT an omnimech.

Besides, they will release the Black Knight and the Cyclops for sure now.
Well if I can't have the HMH, I'll swap in the Bandersnatch or Penetrator.

Since the next one will likely be clan. I imagine the next pack will be
Sling
Coyotl
Night Gyr
Turkina
Unless they are willing to start giving Clan's Battlemechs/IIC mechs. In which case I can't see why the Kodiak and/or Super Nova couldn't be added.

The Sling is IS tech.

Here's the Linebacker first:
It's pretty derpy. 65 ton heavy with the speed and firepower of an Adder. It would certainly be hilarious beyond belief, at least.
Here's the Night Gyr:
This thing is pure nightmare fuel. 75 ton jumping heavy with 38 tons of pod space, and can very easily fit dual Gauss with multiple backup weapons (i.e. 5-6 ERML + 2 Gauss + 6 tons ammo + TC1 + 1-2 extra DHS). Game over man. And people think that the Timberwolf is overpowered...
Technically, the Crossbow is also available, but it's even poopier than the Linebacker. About the same pod space, with less speed and a serious hardpoint famine on most variants (lol 2 missiles on the Prime).

Don't forget the laser heat sinks. Basically doubles that make that monster light up like an arena rock concert whenever it generates lots of excess heat. With 9 hardpoints of wub it would be the ultimate party 'Mech.

And it looks evil and intimidating.
