Qdk-5K Quirks

I believe the Quickdraw 5K quirks needs another look-see. PPC velocity? Seriously? I don't think so. maybe for the Champ version, but not the regular.
My take:
ER Large Laser Heat Generation -10%
ER Large Laser Cooldown +15%
Medium Laser Range +10%
Medium Laser Cooldown +5%
Makes more sense to me.

This would match the load out Myself and from what I've heard quite a few others have used, so yeah, I can dig it.
An alternate quirk I would suggest would be for medium pulse lasers. I slapped six of them on My 5K a while back, makes a nice harasser mech.
And in general all the Quickdraws need CT armor and internal structure buffs, say 20% or so.

Additional Armor (LA&RA) +10
Additional Structure (LL&RL) +7
PPC Velocity +15%
Energy Weapon Heat Generation -10%
What you suggest conform PGI's quirk system:
Additional Armor (LA&RA) +10
Additional Structure (LL&RL) +7
ER Large Laser Heat Generation -5%
Energy Weapon Heat Generation -5%
ER Large Laser Cooldown +7.5%
Energy Weapon Cooldown +7.5%
Medium Laser Range +5%
Energy Weapon Range +5%
The QKD 5k has 6 energy hardpoints and can mount enough weapons not to "need" the cool down buff to make it viable.
It has enough tonage to carry heavy energy weapons with good range so it also doesn't "need" the extra range to be viable.
My only problem with the QKD 5K was being legged to easely and running hot. They addressed both problems and you can argue whether or not thats enough but imo it helps a lot.
The PPC quirk they slapped on because of the mech's role and the ppc being a weapon used for that role (according to pgi). It's an incentive to actually use the things but it's not meant to push you into a meta that dictates having them to be viable.
The -10% energy heat generation gives us a nice flat 10% increase in heat efficiency for all Energy weapons leaving a lot of room for different loadouts without feeling you missed out by choosing anything but the Quirk buffed weapons.
Do I think the PPC quirk is pointless... Maybe.. atleast for me it is. Do I feel the QKD 5k needs to get laser specific quirks... No.
I'd rather have pgi fix the inconsistency in the hit registration since that seems to be all over the place again. It would help the Quickdraw a lot. Quirks are good enough as is.

I run my QKD-5K with a fat engine, 2 MLs and 2 PPCs plus some JJ. I hadn't played it in months. Hopped in the other night and had a blast! The pewpewness of the PPCs is now extra fun.
I think people are having a hard time understanding what the word quirk means..

PPC quirk is wasted if nobody uses PPCs. Mech drops a tier if you dont.

If you've downloaded the High Elo Low Drag branded RSS feeder, you're already more than aware of this, but if you aren't running a three ppc Quickdraw 5K then what are you even doing? Have you seen how high up those hardpoints are? The ENERGY hardpoints? A machine gun certainly isn't going to fit there. That's just good game design.
I know people like to come on these forums and talk a big game about their Victors and Commandos, but if you aren't prepared to embrace the high elo lifestyle and push it to the limit, well personally I find that disgusting.
I know we like to have fun here, and part of the High Elo lifestyle is letting people drain brains how they please, but in this specific scenario it is impossible for me to have anything but disdain for someone that is so committed to low elo play. I encourage you to look inside yourself and attain a higher level of play.

I have no idea why that 'Mech got PPC quirks in the first place. It has 5 energy hardpoints for Blake's sake. They should have given it ML/LL quirks instead.
