Are there any plans to expand/simply increase c-bill earnings? They're dangerously low right now, especially if you're on the losing team.

Likewise, will XP be buffed? Gains were cut quite harshly not too long ago.

QUESTION:

Are the Devs happy with the MechLab and Front End GUI in general?

Follow-up:

Will there be more work finished in the near future to mech the Front End (especially the Mech Lab) more streamlined?

Follow-up 2:

Have the Devs used Smurfy's Mech Lab, and what do they think aboot it?

Question for RUSS:

Those of us who are fans with PINGs of 200 plus would love to see servers here in Asia, when would this be a possibility?

I would like more clarifications on what incentives are planned for Community Warfare other than the aesthetic pleasure of being able to simulate planetary defense and assault (this includes fame and pride and such).
  • Will there be more achievements included for Community Warfare?
  • Will achievements per faction be included for Community Warfare?
  • Will daily/weekly/monthly missions and rewards be included for Community Warfare participation?
  • Other F2P games give benefits to top ranking players/teams for their competitive systems. Will CW have something similar? ( Examples - Tera Online = Competitive players get the fastest mount in the game, this mount cannot be bought with real money, WoT = I think you get gold? ). Will some innovation be done here to make it more unique compared to other existing games?
  • Are there any intentions to ramp up and maintain cosmetic production to flesh out the rewards from CW?
  • Are there any plans to make mechs with unique geometry (of existing variants)/Camo+Colors to give out as rewards for CW?
  • Can having high loyalty reduce the cost of DHS/Endo/Ferro/Artemis conversion?
  • Can having high loyalty with a faction unlock specific Trial Mechs aligned to that faction?
  • Can we at least fill out basic efficiencies for Trial mechs so that players who need them for the 240 ton limit have less of a disadvantage compared to veteran players?
  • Will you be releasing CW specific drop deck sets (maybe faction aligned) for players to use if they don't have anything appropriate? Perhaps these can only be accessed during CW and have basics+Lv1 modules included. Maybe rewards are slightly less for using this set as opposed to using your own mechs.
  • Will participating in CW be fun? ^_^

Russ mentioned that units would need to fight as such. What specifically does that mean? What are the functional restrictions actually going to be? Will players not be able to join a battle if they don't have enough members online?

I've been playing for a long time so I have an abundance of C-bills, I have all the mechs, weapons, modules, ect that I could want
will there be anything in the future that I can spend these C-bills on? I.E. more C-bill paints or cockpit items

In regard to Loyalty Points.

Will Loyalty Point Medallions (or LP booster items in general) be offered for the Clans? Will Clan-aligned players who bought Phoenix packages have an opportunity to acquire Clan-aligned medallions?

1. why are you making Cw less important than the current tdm, cw should be playable 24/7
CW should be your future focus, with all rewards and incentives drawing people to that. Not your rinse and repeat TDM that we've been playing for the last 2 years because we HAVE to, not because we WANT to.
2 why are clans getting contracts, this is wrong

Can we get a transcript of the town hall? I was at work and only saw this 40 minutes after it had ended.

Edit: Someone linked me this

2nd Edit:

Question: Why are you avoiding faction skins as these should be embraced. I understand they take time to make but this is easily one of the biggest things units want when they affiliate with lore based house units. Is this at least something you can look at in the future?

The heads-up was located on the game launcher.

1:07:25 into Part 1 -- Great Question! Thanks to the Asker! Russ has an answer but does not want to be honest. Most of us Founders know the answer... sigh. Mercenaries have been done away with in favor of the Clans. That's the honest answer that Russ was avoiding.

About 1:12:00 ish - Another Great Question!

Here is Russ' reply to my pm to him.
Russ,

Have you ever considered using a player's average match score instead of their ELO rating as a rating to match players in MM?

Simply put, I suggest Average Match Scores are a better metric, since it can further distinguish between those players that make a an overall greater average contribution to a match regardless of the outcome.

Right Now, MM still matches one team up with a bunch of lesser skilled players often just on one side.

ELO based on a team's win/loss record is less telling about individual player contributions to teh match, whereas, Match score is more telling.

Please consider this for future MM balancing. But please first priority needs to be CW.

Thank you if you actually read this...

Lynx

Russ' reply... (keep in mind actions speak louder than words...)
"I agree with many of your thoughts - I have never liked the ELO going up solely based on win or loss.

This isn't something I can do quickly but were making strides to improve the match maker one step at a time. Today's game mode voting system change should help. "

--------

Hard to believe, I want to, but hard to believe that the PGI company president cannot find a better way to match skill than an Elo system he does not like. What is easier to believe is that he is willing to sell out his integrity to try to placate a random customer. I don't want to believe the this, but it is hard not to...

CW coming Dec 16th -- Great Stuff, way over due but late is better than never.

MWO still needs a significant update to the new player experience or it will not be as successful as it could at attracting new players.

MM needs improvement on skill matching, quit stacking new players on one side... It still sometimes does this.

UI improvements and optimizations are still badly needed.

Fix these things and we will have a robust and thriving community, growing, not shrinking.

I like pretty much everything I hear in this town hall. Russ, you and your team are doing great work, and I hope you'll pass on that this player at least really appreciates what they're doing.

(And a particular note: I'm not interested in buying cockpit doodads, but I would love to buy a customized hanger view. I get you guys are doubled down on other priorities, and godspeed to you, but don't let this fall off the bottom of your to-do list!)

Here's my suggestion for getting around the issue of faction skins.

If you want to make specific skins based on Lore units then restrict that skin to chassis used by that unit such as:

Lore Based Marik Unit A
Acceptable chassis to use skin
  • Spider
  • Raven
  • Cicada
  • Trebuchet
  • Orion
  • Awesome
Lore Based Steiner Unit A
Acceptable Chassis to use skin
  • Commando
  • Firestarter
  • Griffin
  • Zeus
  • Highlander
  • Banshee
This way you only have to make a skin for a much smaller series of mechs. Then on generic mechs used by the faction (Hunchbacks, Awesomes, Atlases etc.) you can make a one size fits all faction skin.

I also remember hearing you say having a different skin for a captain. Rather than doing that why not just implement rank emblems and keep yourself from making different skins based on rank?

I opened a ticket about this on October 31 and I have yet to receive any response from PGI on the matter (the only activity on the ticket is my own asking for an update or response). I have essentially STOPPED playing the game over this (save for checking every few day to see if the ticket has been addressed or even acknowledged as problematic). I know we are more than likely in the minority here to even feel its an issue...but when you go from averaging 700exps and 90,000Cbills per match win or loose (without premium time or Hero mechs) to barely making 60,000cbils and averaging 325ish exps per match (win or loose without Heroes or PT) in a "new and improved" rewards system something definitely is wrong. I'm not an expert pilot, I don't think I am good or even average...I am a new player who (because I am not an expert pilot) has had his CBill revenue reduced by 50% and xp gains cut by 100% there is very little incentive to spend any more money (buy premium time to almost make as much as I used to with PT? Please!) on this game and even less to keep playing. I was really liking MWO prior to the implementation of this "improved" rewards system but now not so much until something changes (since the new system has been launched I have had games with quick cap victories were I didn't fire a shot because all the team did was base rush and cap...and I got 38,000 ciblls and 90exp and I have other games where due to an (un)lucky shot I was taken out by single gaus hit, the team got utterly stomped and my rewards were 18,000 cbills and 30 exps...not even enough to replace a UAV in either game...sure I didn't do much in these games but they happen and they happen a lot to new players like me and that makes it hard and frustrating trying to get anywhere when you come out of games with NEGATIVE Cbill earnings)
