This new map resembles a very ancient Strip mine!

"These are not naturally occurring geological formations but instead bear an Uncanny similarity to long abandoned Strip mines" Quotes an inside source.

Could it be that there once was an Alien intelligence that has gone extinct?

Stay tuned for further developments.

People have been in intestellar space in Battletech for close to 1000 years, it could easily be an abandoned human strip mine.

With the insects that big it's easy to see why they abandoned it.

Classify alien

Because if Alien is any life outside of earth/home planet
Then All the plants are aliens

If alien is any life that is not from the home planet, but is on another planet
Then the swamp map is alien

If Alien is any non-plant/fungus/bacterial life on another planet
then the swamp map has something in the water, and those shells clearly are from some creature

If you mean intelligent life, then no we don't know yet.

Yeah, I think the giant bug carcass is a better place to look for proof of alien life. Now if you mean intelligent life similar or more advance to our own, thats another story.

Well, there are those bird people.

The ones K-town is named after. Though...I guess that's kind of been thrown out.

Well, the inner sphere is only about 500ish lightyears in diameter, and the galaxy is like 110k. So, there's a little wiggle room there. But then again, there's this.

I remember a terraced map (without the huge LOS stopping walls) in Living legends, but that was way better (as I said, without those gigantic blocks all over the place)

Far Country and it was disowned by the IP as never having existed in canon. The owners of the IP have stated the humans are the only sentient life in the Btech universe

Grasshopper or no, that thing lands on your neck unexpectedly and you're going to be cleaning out your hanes

Read the sarna article, it's canon but no one is allowed to revisit the aliens again.

exactly, which means you'll never see aliens in the Btech universe.

Because of the sentient aliens featured in Far Country, the novel's canonicity is sometimes questioned. However, it does meet the current criteria for Canon and BattleTech Line Developer Herbert A. Beas has confirmed its canonicity, with the caveat that the authors and developers deliberately ignore the Tetatae and shall not revisit them. The impact on the BattleTech universe is minor, given that the Tetatae only (theoretically) exist in a place that has no connections to the known universe whatsoever.
