Pssh you won't even be able to run those flamers for more than 5 seconds with your build :P

pft.

It only has 4 less heat disspation than yours. xD and If I multi-chain the flamers in pairs, I can infinitely fire them too.
You've got to know how to make the flamer work man.

You can't just run in and hold down the trigger, you need planning and experience.

It's why you run in and blow your load, and I have endurance. ;)

And even then, your version is still better with DHS: FIREBRAND

Here:

FIREBRAND

I rode this to a tournament third or fourth (fifth?) with surprisingly little effort, many, many moons ago. With the perks it's much better, but still has drawbacks.

Use the AC5's like they're going out of fashion; shoot at shadows, spray at lights, whatever - 8 tonnes of ammo is nice. Fire the PPC's whenever heat allows.

It's slow, and has vulnerable legs, but i've found that as long as you sit near assaults, you can do STUPENDOUSLY well. I had my first 1200DMG Yager game in a while with this thing (the DD with 3xUAC5 is a different, hilariously awesome beast entirely ;) )

IMHO, if you're going to min/max in a Yager, you should do it the poochie way, to the EXTREME. The extra speed of an XL280 is nice, but IMHO, Yagers are all about the guns. Glorious Dakka! Even at 60ish KPH, you're still faster than DireWolves, and they are a far more delicious looking target than you.

Dual Gauss is still the best earner for the FB in my book, as the extra hero cash is very nice.

Just don't give up if you get instagibbed. All Yagers are prone to the debilitating side effects of focus fire, and more than most other mechs, are perpetually chasing the elusive awesomeness of those rounds where everyone kindly ignores you while you surgically remove their limbs.

Ohhhh snap! Is that a POOCHIE reference?!
+1 Like for you!

This my FIREBRAND

It has served me well for a long time.
I specifically bought the FB because of how well the same build worked on my JM6-S.

I've lately been experimenting with this alternate FIREBRAND which has been working pretty well, with the SLs giving it a bit of extra kick in a brawl, but sometimes I feel the sacrifice in ammo isn't worth it.

Quirks or not, I'm not really going to consider switching out the core of 2LBX10 and 2ML though, it just works too well at all ranges, and in almost all engagement types, a solid all rounder that has never let me down. (barring you know, when the entire enemy team spots you and you cop 6+ mechs to the face...)

The reason I don't like that build is because more can be achieved with a Cataphract 3D, same build, with two more medium lasers.

I've been trying to work out a dual PPC dual AC 5 Firebrand but it would leave you with no secondary weapons and IIRC only 75 AC 5 shots.

The Boz's AC10 and dual PPC build intrigues me. Bump for this thread, bought one of these guys with the hero sale and looking for good mid-range builds that can take a beating.

I run mine like a Rifleman - 2xAC5, 2xERLL - ignore the quirks.

It's one of my better mechs.

Do not use dual UAC, tried on a DD, there are times both will jam and you are hosed.

I have considered something like a 5 ton heavier Rifleman build but never figured it out yet. Was going to try 2PPC & 2AC5, too many sacrifices for my liking. Also thought about 2LL & 2AC5.

Though whoever posted that build with the single AC10, now I could do that since LL & AC10 did so well for me on an Enforcer, just need to work out the FB version.
