Maybe I'm thinking of humans and not battlemechs but I'm not sure how the method you're describing is faster than a Turkish get-up (never knew that move had a name before...thanks).
It's called a technical stand up in MMA context. Do you even trane UFC bro?
I don't think the method I described is necessarily the fastest. I was making two separate points. 1) Turkish get-up is not the fastest way to stand up and 2) There are fast ways to stand up without using your arms. But yeah, if you want to give a slight advantage to mechs with arms, that's ok. I just don't think it's a prerequisite.

On a random note, I wonder how many people here can do a muscle up. Searching for muscle up gifs on the web makes me want to do Crossfit now (though, I think I'll just stick to something safer like Muay Thai). Never tried them on rings but seems like the doing them on a bar is harder.
It's a good way to wreck your shoulders unless you're already in good shape from doing similar exercises and/or weight lifting. I do think muay thai is indeed safer for your body than crossfit. Just probably not as good for your brain, depending on how guys train at your gym or how much you compete. But I'd rather have slurred speech and memory loss than a bad back. A bit of slurred speech never stopped anyone from training
