The Quirkening Sale

Dont forget that the reason for a sale is to make people part from their money and give it to the one who is doing the sale.
An CB sale hurts this.

Actually a Cbill AND MC sale stands a better chance to encourage people to spend money than just a Cbill sale. For example, look at the 2 Jenners on sale: if the Cbill versions had a discount on both its MC and Cbill cost I might buy it for Cbills and buy the Oxide for MC and buy a 3rd Jenner to complete mastery...but since both are ONLY discounted for their MC cost I will instead buy NEITHER and keep my money in my wallet.
You are somewhat correct that a pure Cbill sale has very little chance to potentially encourage MC/$ sales directly...indrectly though it stands a chance to draw more people to the game, during the summer weekly Cbill/MC mech sales 3 of my friends joined the game, but when those sales stopped 2 of the 3 left because without those regular sales they found the game to be far too "grindy" to be fun or worth while to spend any real $ on. Real world retailers do this kind of thing all the time, its called loss leaders: retailers put things on sale at 0 (or sometimes negative) profit to draw in customers in the hopes that while they are there they will spend $ on other, non sale items and retailers have been successful doing this for decades <---a Cbill AND MC sale has the greatest chance of doing this for MWO. PGI's marketing department simply needs to stop focusing on our wallets and go back to listening to our voices. We, the community are the ones spending the money that keeps MWO going.

Dragon DRG-1N
Hunchback HBK-4G
Thunderbolt TDR-5SS
Only 4 mechs out of 9 are actually tier5, the other 5 ain't. And they missed 23 real tier5 variants.
Instead of the "quirkening sale", it should be called a "random sale"

All Tier 1 Mechs: 10%
All Tier 2 Mechs: 20%
All Tier 3 Mechs: 30%
All Tier 4 Mechs: 40%
All Tier 5 Mechs: 50%
Now THAT would have made this sale awesome.

I for one would spend more money if they did premium time sales, more hero sales(you always miss the ones you want, and have money when they do crap like this pointless sale), camo/paint sales, hell, even mech bays and useless cockpit items would be more worth spending real money on than mechs I could grind out for free in...a day? At most?
Doubting I'm alone in these sentiments. Alas, for now, wallet stays closed aside from premium here and there, and a Hero or two once they fix some of the less-than-useful quirks many got, or the right ones go on sale.
(Read: PGI, if you want people to spend money, give us something worth spending money on...not content we can already get for free...)

I agree, PGI should be a charity organisation, delivering us MWO out of the goodness of their hearts, addressing our the first world famine of Mech games

Did one game yesterday in the X1 - hadnt made a game in it for month, was wavering around like mad and got only short under 300dmg.
Today 2 games in it: One I died very fast. my error.
Second game over 700dmg on the losing team - 2nd best match dmg.
Made one game in BJ-3: 400+ dmg and 2 kills, which isnt bad for an energy Med in caustic.
And one game in the 3rd BJ: 540dmg in the losing team.
I really cant understand it.
-------
To the sale: Even with 50% a mech is just expensive to buy with MC.
In my eyes they should try to sale mech packs - 3 variants+mech bay for 66% off. Get 3 CB-mechs for the price of one of them MC. That would be a deal where you think "grinding a whole month or forking over 10€?"
How many mech there will be at the end?
Every single player could shell out 100€ or even the double with that and still not have bought heros or champons. But for the cash rich and time poor that would mean an incentive.
Same with the colors. I want to paint one mech and have to pay several € for that - and the same for the next one?? No, thanks.
