Been 40-50% heavies all day long. Strangely medium queue has dropped to 20% :o
Time to have some hunchback games!

Never thought I'd see mediums second least queued (after lights ofc)

first reason is the challange, second is the timbocalypse of course.

also mediums have been for a long time before the quirks and SCR release been very very low

Timbercalypse could have been worse.

I mean there are a lot of Small laser-LRM-MG-arm lock-3rd pers.- warriors out there but not more than usual.

"Am i getting used to that kind of players.... ?"

After grinding for over a week, most people are now rich enough to purchase their first madcat.

Dragons are also high in the queue now thanks to the quirks.

I didnt see many timbers (maybe 2-3 per team). I think it was worse the crowpocalypse or even the whalepocalypse

The daishis and stormcrows, despite c-bill crows initially going at 45% discount, drained the community's c-bill reserves. You'll not see many madcats, and way less warhawks next month.

Wouldn't that be because it's a "bad" mech with like max 5 hardpoints, everything mounted on low placed arms and 20 locked HS?

It doesn't matter if a robot is bad or not. When they release a new one, everybody grabs it and plays it for at least one week.

Five hardpoints is all the Hawk needs to mop the floor. But it can have up to nine hardpoints. It is the type of mech that requires good pilot at the joystick to shine.

Nah, the issues with the Warhawk are more that it has slightly suspect hit boxes, easier than most to disarm, and has difficulty making use of ballistics, also it suffers greatly for being so close to the Timber Wolf in weight but not being a Timber Wolf.

As for the DHS thing, you need lots of DHS for clan mechs anyways, you'll almost certainly be adding more DHS to any build on the Warhawk so they aren't wasted. At worst they are inconveniently placed.

This timberwolf headshot hitbox is so god-dam tiny. I have tried it alot of times, but it's hardly manageable.

Only thing i can do is aim for their sidetorses. Then again, a timerwolf can rip very fast any armor.

Its not that its tiny its that you got to be dead center in front of one to hit the cockpit effectively.
Being in front of one like that is generally not the thing to do however...

The Peacedove isn't that bad. Its hardpoints are fairly lackluster but the rest of the mech is actually pretty okay.

The 20 hardlocked DHS are mostly just an issue if you want to do dual Gauss or something. If you use primarily energy weapons, you'd end up needing that many dubs anyways (or more).

The hardpoint problem can be moderately aleviated by your choice of weapons; I for example use 4 Large Pulse Lasers, a TCII, and a bunch of extra dubs.

In general, the mech has reasonably tanky hitboxes that can spread damage well if you twist well. It also has a crazy torso twist radius, unmatched by any assault mech (most heavies can't match it either). Lastly, it usually outruns any assault other than a Victor or crazy Battlemaster/Awesome using a large XL engine.

I think an issue that people have with the Peacedove is that they might expect it to carry a big alpha to instagib all the things and carry all the pugs. It's actually more of a "support" assault that is good at keeping up with the pack and applying steady damage at a distance. In some ways it's like a giant medium mech or maneuverable heavy that can take a lot more hits but not move as fast.

Example build: WUBHAWK-PRIME
It has higher heat efficiency because it's intended as a "DPS" sort of build that keeps laying out steady damage...

These new Timberwolf pilots are a joke.

Saw a timber last night with nothing but 4 LRM15s with Artemis...and a tag.

Thats it, nothing else.
