Played a decent amount of games now since I started back in August and have now found out what I liked, so I killed two birds with one stone by supporting a company which has given me a great amount of enjoyment and getting the kind of mech I like. Went for an "a la carte" Warhawk. This will be fun once I get the master so I'll have a 70kph assault machine of doom.

+30% bonus to cbill is a nice addition for a player like me who usually only have time to play in the weekends. That way I'll rack up some decent cbills in the short amount of time I have available for gaming. On top of that, it's an assault, so it will on average have the second lowest queue time, which does matter in my case.

I was first hesitant to buy a pack, but then I just realised that this "a la carte" costs basically as much as 3 drinks at the bar, but I don't doubt these three WH's will provide more fun during a longer period of time. :D
Now I must only play the waiting game, apparently mechs are injected 4 pm PST (sucks for the European playerbase).

See you on the battlefield!

Congrats, enjoy it.

The Warhawk is still one of my favorite clan mechs to pilot (my favorite is currently the Doom Crow ;) ).

Enjoy! The WHK can be a little tricky to customize to one's tastes, depending on preferences, due to the locked locations, but used well is a very solid mech. I would rather drive one than a Dire Wolf, any day of the week, personally.

I looove the Masakari cockpit... lol that probably sounds dumb, but it's true. The worst thing when buying those a la carte mechs is definitely the wait. I remember when I got my first one, I didn't read the fine print and I was stuck waiting all day lol... but it was worth the wait and a lot of fun once I got it. Enjoy your new mech!

Good choice. The quad PPCs are great fun, and there's plenty of great builds with a combination of LPLs, Medium lasers and SRMs.

Wonderful choice, the PeaceDove is one of my favorite assaults, despite the disrespect it usually gets.

Good choice. Haven't had a chance to really play with them much (limited to a few dozen matches on test) but from that little exposure and from fighting them, I really like the Warhawk. It is very underrated mostly because on paper the Dire Wolf looks so good. In practice, depending on the build, you can mount almost as much firepower, while moving at 71 kph (once tweaked) and it offers much better agility, torso rotation and fire arcs. Warhawk is more of a mid-range support mech though rather than an in your face brawler like the Dire Wolf so keep that in mind and you will be golden.

4x LPL Warhawk is best Warhawk. That build puts out the hurt like no other, and with recent pulse laser buffs, it's even better! Fire them in pairs though, I suggest each arm being its own group. Make those wired DHS work to your advantage ya know?

*splutter* yes yes good choice! Ahem.

No really though, the Warhawk isn't so bad in the current lurmageddon pub environment. Just strap on some LRM15s and some lasers and go to town.

Probably a good choice... but I can't help getting stuck at $55 for 3 drinks.

Do they come with happy endings?

I got the Protector hero mech. Love the 30% C-Bill boost but it didnt say it would walk like a duck. It really does walk like a duck. Really I would like them to make a pass on the Protector some time. I wouldnt know where to start with the changes I would make. :) But its one of my favourite mechs even now.

Yeah the four LPL with range module is my go too assault for grinding cbills. Good luck with your new mech!

It's a good mech. Decent combination of armor, speed, and space for your lasers and missiles. Has capability of a ballistic of any type if you so choose also. Fight well, die well!

I've had really mixed results from the War Hawk. Like many assault mechs, it won't come into its own until you have unlocked the double efficiency for your basic skills, and until then it may be really rough.

Also note that just because the War Hawk isn't the end all, be all of assault mechs does not mean you can't get it to perform. For example, the Nova is a pretty mediocre mech, but the player known as Zoeff just clicked with it and can do evil, evil things with it (he frequently outperforms top tier assaults with it).

Why does everyone around here compare it to drinks at a bar...I don't buy over priced alcohol.
