Not Sure What Is Sadder, The Actual Scoring System (Tournament) Or The Way Players Are Gaming The System, Lol.

But watching the players go out of their way to touch everything and NOT get kills, to maximize their scores, so they can show of their Epeen? Seriously laughable.
Fact is, you get 12 kills, 1500 damage (240), you end up with A LOWER SCORE, than the guy who gets 0 kills, 11 Assists and 750 damage, in a loss (270). Mind you, those 11 assists on a win, to qualify for the Leaderboards, is a score of 290.
This makes sense, how? Half my highest scores came from absolute crap matches, where the ones I dominated (5-6 kills, 600+ damage in a HBK-4G..... can't help the damage, critter is too efficient at killing, lol) are in the lower half of my qualifying scores.
This might be the first Tournament where the Leaderboards are dominated by people who did less to actually help the team win the game. On the upside, FF is down, overall, and a lot less killstealing, lol.

At least that's why I'm using my blue lasers, I don't give a **** about the leaderboards personally.

I just run the game, have fun, and not worry. I had three or four drops with some guys from cgbi last night, and had a blast in group.

don't even need to game it for that. 130 is pretty easy to get, regardless. I'm averaging it on over 75% of matches, and I'm just playing like I always do, shooting what I see, and trying to kill whatever I can, lol.

We're a pretty good Clan over there. Got our Comp Team, but also just some quality people. I'm pretty pleased to be a part of them on my alt. account.

Its nice to have free things but I prefer to have fun while getting less rewards then grinding those 130 point-matches.

Playing, and gaming, not really the same, but yes, I know most gamers can't tell the difference. Sorry dude, but watching people avoid kills, is indeed sad and laughable.

That said, the system as it is now rewards people who arent great/good at the game and it's fine(for cbills rewards and other trinkets) but it's dumb that ranking also rewards bad behaviors. Sure there are those who will do it for the ranking but you can dismiss them, just know that this weekend will prolly be sh!t to play in. It's like that with most video competition, the game designers just don't know how to make a game that can be fair without having to "exploit" 5% of the game content.
Im also racing in PoE and just like with MWO i refuse to be part of the tryhard crowd and i just do my own things, learn on my own instead of just being as cheesy as possible. Yesterday i was able to rank 90th and i was happy about that, with a build/class everyone would laugh and give me **** for and thats fine too, i enjoy not being part of them.

The fact is, someone should have looked at the rules they came up with and known better, I can't imagine the resultant behavior would have been too hard to predict.

edit: countless matches and episodes, in which I was focusing fire with 2-3 mates... and then after damage done, they left position, instead of "finish" the enemy mech.
Just bad rules + too much bad players.

BUT, I just cannot play that way and have just continued playing it my way as I have always done. The saddest part of the solo queue is that I have actually seen that when a player has been in trouble with the enemy and his "team "mates" are happy to get a little damage and then just walk away for other targets.
I have watched a LRM boater (I died early) with 5xLRM pods flick from 1 target to another just shooting one volley to ensure they get their assists...
Sad gameplay.
I'll still get my bonuses but probably should have had more but we lost because mechs which should have been killed were not.
Cheers!

The only other memorable LRM moment was when LRMs did about a 90% dive trajectory a while ago which meant players hiding behind tall buildings were getting struck.
Anyhow, games goes on but I feel sorry for new players coming to the game trying to learn how to play and get caught up in this type of gameplay. They may/will become part of the same LRM problem or just walk away IMHO.
I hope a next tournament scenario may be damage by laser only. At least this will teach people how to snipe and move around a map using cover. Sure that will cause problems anyways. Ya can't win
Cheers!

Did 1 match and rank at place 1425 in the Lone Wolf ladder - that is not that bad amount of a player participation.
