And yes, in that mode chat would need to be disabled so the opposing team members cant spy on the remaining enemy and give locations away.
Just a cool thought

There was one down at the launch tourney iirc, take a look at that.

It would have to be only available in Private matches though, otherwise you'd just have people reporting enemy positions and the like.

Other games allow free roam cams and even have an integrated team chat feature. just something you gotta deal with sometimes.

Except that given the nature of the MWO player base, the whining will be of legendary proportions.

How are you going to disable Teamspeak so people cannot tell you what they can see?
Way too easy to utilize unfairly imo.

Step 1: Disable all map grids, targeting data, etc. that you would otherwise get from watching a player's screen while in free cam.
...
...Profit!
The only way an organized team could benefit from it would be if they have a printout of the map and the battlegrid, which would require them to do a lot of crosschecking back and forth. Sure, the F9 coordinates could present a problem, but I doubt anybody would be able to make use of that in the middle of a battle.
The overall impact is minimal than what we already have. Did you know that people's eyes don't always see everything in the screen? Is there really much of a difference between somebody going, "They're behind that big rock thingy," and, "Dude, to your left! See those 3 dots in the distance?"

Now that i think about it things in this game are too fast paced anyway for someone to have THAT MUCH of an effect. So the eye in the sky says the catapult is a C3. Who cares. Everyone is normally actively searching out and dropping the hammer on everyone else anyway. Yes there may be SOME advantage but it would go both ways as people die.

That is totally doable and would greatly expand the team aspect and enjoyability of this. Think of those really great matches that go 14:45 and you did 900 damage and where just in the thick of it without dying. It would be awesome to be able to review from multiple angles and rewind/playback
