Which Atlas Should I Buy? (My Third One)
#1

I use my DDC as ECM cover with a 350 engine and basically have him as a fast Atlas (works well!)
My AS7-S I use as my slow death dealer. Standard 300 engine, but if you're in range... You're probably going to be dead soon.
So. Suggestions, which Atlas should I get for my third one, and why?

We don't talk about the -K.

DDC & S are both heavy close combat damagers, but Boar's Head is similar if you like stronger alphas. The 30% C-bill bonus is neat too.
K is mostly a joke (quirks don't complement well, it has bad hardpoints), but if you really want dual AMS (aka that rain in the sky) then you should get him (also including a XL 300, saving money so much).
RS is the laser beast, but if you get Boar's Head, then RS feels not really too much more. D is zombied but besides that RS is basically better unless you are using more than an AC20 (aka combo ACs like dual UACs dual LBXs AC5+LBX etc.)
Hope I helped!

You all did! Thanks.
Since the AS7-S Already is a zombie, and fairly similar to the D... I think I'm gonna go with the RS. The Lazer build will be interesting, and a refreshing difference!
Oh and also?

Equip 2xAMS + both AMS modules
Equip Gauss + 3 ER LL + gauss cooldown module (and get 15% gauss cooldown from quirks)
Do it like this.
Any noob can do well in the AS7-D-DC or AS7-RS. It takes a real man with a substantial amount of pubic hair to do the brave thing and buy the AS7-K. I made the mistake of selling mine but I'm buying it back soon. And I will wipe out enemies from afar, with my ER LL's shining through the battlefield like a lighthouse. A lighthouse of doom.

Stick 2 UAC5's or AC5's in the right torso, load up on SRMs and Medium lasers, and start hammering away. The lighter autocannons keep up some steady pain as you close into brawling range.
The dual ballistic slot is the only real advantage the D has over the S, so use it, despite the silly AC20 perk the D gets.

Avoid the K, and don't even remotely be tempted to buy the Boar's Head.

If you want an Atlas can do the things that the two you already have can't you'll want either the AS7-RS or the *shudder* AS7-K. Or the Boar's Head if you have the MC to spend.
I can only really recommend the AS7-D model if you absolutely have to have both dual ballistics and CT energy slots. Otherwise I'd choose the AS7-RS for its four arm mounted lasers.

If you pilot an atlas, you would know that you use your arms as sheilds to protect your torso. which is where the zombie mechanic of the D comes into play. losing your arms on the D is a lot less of a loss than your arms in the RS.

RS - Brawler (similar to S but with 1 fewer SRM, (4x ML, 2x SRM, 1xAC20)
D - Slow Thumper (the dual mounted Ballistic slot rocks... I rock 2x LBX10s and love it)
TBH - Fun to run, but strip the engine from the get go... Have seen a resurgence of it since the Pulse Laser "fix"
K - Rather short on hardpoints but can be VERY fun at distances ...
Suggestion... with what you have, look for a D or RS with a Brawler build...

Oh yeah, you're absolutely right there. But my point is that the RS fills a different role, one that plays differently than it's closer ranged brethren whereas the AS7-D plays much the same as the AS7-S or the D-DC which OP already has.

Yea if he wants a different style of atlas he could go with the RS, but if he prefers the D-DC and the S he should go with the D

I guess it depends entirely on OP. I was in the same situation as OP and I bought the D and I wish I got the RS instead.
