I have the DDC and the AS7-S, but to elite these guys I'm not sure what to get...

I use my DDC as ECM cover with a 350 engine and basically have him as a fast Atlas (works well!)

My AS7-S I use as my slow death dealer. Standard 300 engine, but if you're in range... You're probably going to be dead soon.

So. Suggestions, which Atlas should I get for my third one, and why?

AS7-D is the glorious Atlas master race. It's a rock solid zombie platform with a healthy mix of ballistic and missile hardpoints. Unlike the -RS, you can hold off on using the second set of lasers until after you've lost a side torso, and it can keep trucking even after it's been beanpoled. The -RS is decent, but it's not as good as the AS7-D.

We don't talk about the -K.

I have no idea what this Atlas K is you speak of... :)

to OP, D is an awesome 2lb10's build... RS, go crazy with the XL360, 4ppc gauss build....oh wait...that was two years ago :D

S is better than the D

So if you want something different go for RS

I would go with the D for that twin Ballistic, even if you never use it, it might come in handy. Also got chest lasers, which are good for zombie atlases.

DDC & S are both heavy close combat damagers, but Boar's Head is similar if you like stronger alphas. The 30% C-bill bonus is neat too.

K is mostly a joke (quirks don't complement well, it has bad hardpoints), but if you really want dual AMS (aka that rain in the sky) then you should get him (also including a XL 300, saving money so much).

RS is the laser beast, but if you get Boar's Head, then RS feels not really too much more. D is zombied but besides that RS is basically better unless you are using more than an AC20 (aka combo ACs like dual UACs dual LBXs AC5+LBX etc.)

Hope I helped!

You all did! Thanks.

Since the AS7-S Already is a zombie, and fairly similar to the D... I think I'm gonna go with the RS. The Lazer build will be interesting, and a refreshing difference!

Oh and also?

I'd normally recommend the D too.

*Snickers* ;) (And yes, I know it's immature! Lol)

for what its worth, after i got the S, i got both the D and the RS, i don't care for that giant "KILL ME" sign over the D-DC. and all 3 have done well.

Buy the Atlas K.

Equip 2xAMS + both AMS modules

Equip Gauss + 3 ER LL + gauss cooldown module (and get 15% gauss cooldown from quirks)

Do it like this.

Any noob can do well in the AS7-D-DC or AS7-RS. It takes a real man with a substantial amount of pubic hair to do the brave thing and buy the AS7-K. I made the mistake of selling mine but I'm buying it back soon. And I will wipe out enemies from afar, with my ER LL's shining through the battlefield like a lighthouse. A lighthouse of doom.

I have a K. It's not terrible. It's less terrible than it used to be. I'm not entirely sold on the idea of an Atlas as a mid-to-long range support platform. It's just not where the chassis excels. Needs more buffing methinks.

Atlas D.

Stick 2 UAC5's or AC5's in the right torso, load up on SRMs and Medium lasers, and start hammering away. The lighter autocannons keep up some steady pain as you close into brawling range.

The dual ballistic slot is the only real advantage the D has over the S, so use it, despite the silly AC20 perk the D gets.

I would vote D first, if not D then RS.

Avoid the K, and don't even remotely be tempted to buy the Boar's Head.

I'm going to disagree with the AS7-D fans. If you like the AS7-D for it's awesome zombie and brawling capability, you already have the AS7-S. If you want dual ballistics then you have the AS7-D-DC.

If you want an Atlas can do the things that the two you already have can't you'll want either the AS7-RS or the *shudder* AS7-K. Or the Boar's Head if you have the MC to spend.

I can only really recommend the AS7-D model if you absolutely have to have both dual ballistics and CT energy slots. Otherwise I'd choose the AS7-RS for its four arm mounted lasers.

If you pilot an atlas, you would know that you use your arms as sheilds to protect your torso. which is where the zombie mechanic of the D comes into play. losing your arms on the D is a lot less of a loss than your arms in the RS.

All of them (I own all of them)... I own them all and each is rocks in it's own right...

RS - Brawler (similar to S but with 1 fewer SRM, (4x ML, 2x SRM, 1xAC20)
D - Slow Thumper (the dual mounted Ballistic slot rocks... I rock 2x LBX10s and love it)
TBH - Fun to run, but strip the engine from the get go... Have seen a resurgence of it since the Pulse Laser "fix"
K - Rather short on hardpoints but can be VERY fun at distances ...

Suggestion... with what you have, look for a D or RS with a Brawler build...

Oh yeah, you're absolutely right there. But my point is that the RS fills a different role, one that plays differently than it's closer ranged brethren whereas the AS7-D plays much the same as the AS7-S or the D-DC which OP already has.

Yea if he wants a different style of atlas he could go with the RS, but if he prefers the D-DC and the S he should go with the D

I guess it depends entirely on OP. I was in the same situation as OP and I bought the D and I wish I got the RS instead.

There is one Atlas that can pack an AC20 and Dual AMS. No other IS mech can do that.

RS is awesome if you want to boat large lasers.
