First of all: I like the new map. I really like it. The layout is nice and all games I've had on it so far have been great fun. Lot's of flanking and the frontline was moving constantly. Also, despite the huge trees and what other people complained about before the release, I think the mechs really feel tall. I don't get this feeling so much on the other maps, but somehow the size just feels right.

To me, there is just one big problem: THE BLOOM!

The bloom effect on this map is WAY to strong in my opionion. It literally hurts my eyes. No, I'm not joking. After one match on this map, I feel like I've been working on a monitor for eight hours straight beause my eyes feel so strained. Everything is so bright and glowy and...bloomy (if this is even a word).

Also, it ruins the atmosphere of the map. All the mechs are so shiny, like they've been just maunfacutred and polished...and been made out of mirrors (maybe reflective armour? who knows). It's a giant swamp, with moist, foggy air. It should look like it. But no, it's super bright and feels more like I'm in the middle of a desert instead of beeing in a swamp.
Or in other terms:
The map should look somehow like Dagobah, but right now, I feel like I'm in the middle of the dessert on Tatooine.

Like I siad before, I really like the new map, but I think it's too bright with too much bloom. Buy maybe I'm alone with this, so I'd like to hear the opinion of others. :)

It's an illusion. You think it's bright because it looks bright. Not because it actually is. Mind over matter dude.

So my eyes hurt because they "think" it's bright?

I agree somewhat with the Op, I think the bloom is over done and it tends to wash out some of the lush colors. I think a little gloomier would have been my preference that would have still allowed for good color. I like the map a lot so far after only one round of live play. I hope to see many more maps in the very near future with similar play style.

W/e happened to this new map needs to hit the others, brighten them up a bit somehow, maybe not wiht more bloom, but something with the atmosphere, make it so everything isnt so dark and gloomy......where its not like HPG....where everything is just a blobby black shadow against a grey background....

I kinda agree. I may need to play on it a bit more though. The sun ray effects can look pretty cool at times but they probably could tone it down a bit.

I would LOVE to see a bright clear night version of this map with zero fog also!

I have zero issues with brightness on the new map... maybe check your monitor brightness?

I think he or she meant the bloom effects when you look up. Some pretty intense sun beams!

Yeah, really nice map but all that great texturing and color goes to waste because it requires a switch to thermal from the get-go. Fog is appropriate for a swamp map, but the lighting needs some work. It's way too bright and washed-out.

If you think that map is washed out then you need new eyes or a new monitor O.o

And this folks is how you turn every map into a greyish-brown dull dark matter like all the other maps we have.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

It's a touch bright, but honestly this is the brightest and crispest I have ever seen MWO look. Really brings out the colours in custom paints. It's a shame that the fog and foliage are so dense I spend almost the whole match in heat vision.

I like the colors!

It isn't brown... or grey... or... drab.
