Will I lose the cbill bonus from an (I) type if I change any of the omnipod parts of that mech type?
For instance, if I change my (I) prime's arm to another mech type arm, do I lose the inherent (I)-type bonus?

The cbill bonus is attached to the CT(core) of the variant. You are free to change omni pods as you see fit,and it will retain the cbill bonus.

You don't lose the bonus. Think of it as being attached to the CT only.

Oh, cool!
Then I'm off to hack'n'saw on my WH. Might try an LRM/ERLL combo!

4x LPL Warhawk, near-max armor (strip legs if anything), then fill up your remaining tonnage with DHS. You'll thank me later.
Sounds awesome, although I just bought 4x ERLL and 2x LRM10 for a mid-long range killer. But I will buy 4x LPL just to have in store.
Btw, what is the advantage of LPL compared to ERLL? It seems to weigh more, more heat, occupy more slots and much shorter range for only 2 extra damage. What am I missing?

With recent buffs, this is how LPL and ERLL compare:
LPL-
Tons: 6
Crit Slots: 2
Heat: 10
Range: 600m
Damage: 13
Duration: 1.12
CD: 3.25
ERLL-
Tons: 4
Crit Slots: 1
Heat: 10
Range: 740m
Damage: 11
Duration: 1.5
CD: 3.25
As you can see, the only serious trade-offs are tonnage and range. Otherwise, same heat and CD, with the LPL being much more efficient at focusing damage over a shorter beam.

Beam duration.LPL has considerably shorter beam duration.Makes it easier to put the full damage on target.
It's a trade off.ERLL gives you a good bit more range for a little less tonnage,LPL gives you shorter beam duration and a bit more damage.

Ok, so it comes down to having a steady hand in other words.
I think I'll stick to ERLL then since my problem has never been keeping the target in my crosshair.
Although, I will buy LPL just to try.
