So you can target mechs under the lilly pad canopy, but you can't see them....

The recent video (Dev Vlog #10) on the map says yes, you can target them under the lilies. But that being LRM friendly or not also depends a lot on how safe the good vantage points are.

It does look like it's going to by a jump jet friendly map. If you want to exploit the map, I'd say your best bet is something like THIS. (Maybe cut to smaller launchers for more jets.)

Its gonna be heat vision friendly map. Why bother trying to see through green stuff when you can just make everything stick out as white from black.

We'll see if the lilies block thermal as well as normal vision soon enough.

The map looks like it has tonnes of massive trees and high ridges. It shouldn't be too hard to find something to block the LRMs.

LRM's are so OP I can step behind a rock and avoid all damage or just outrun them, sometimes though I do get out in the open and they hammer me to bits because one guy with 2000 rounds is not enough they need 6 guys with 2ooo rounds for one guy and I'm not smart enough to dart from cover to cover in caustics wide open plains. Lrms are boring and need a rework to make them useful and fun.

I think from the looks of the new swamp map it looks like it offers plenty of cover to avoid the lrm spam. I just hope it is a large map that offers more than one hill that every one gravitates toward for battle. I am more concerned about the live creature in the water eating my legs off than lrm spam.

it will be difficult to use Lrms when mechs are on the lower levels of the map, you can get a target lock but you wouldn't know if the missiles can get to them. looks like stomps, or fast battles will be rare on the new Bog map, to many obstacles, and different levels, plus we don't know if there are environmental hazards either, Big worms???

You do understand that you just described intelligent use of indirect fire, right?

that appears to be the middle map. in other areas there are a lot of things to hide behind, and lights have the upper area to hide in where they can use tag to assist.

Just shoot. If the cursor flashed red, then you got a hit.

The lily pad canopy is only one portion of the map. The map generally seems to feature short sight lines, even accounting for the fact that foliage only provides visual concealment

Sorry you didn't catch my sarcasm, point is that LRM's are boring at this point and take zero skill. When I a non lrm player can take a trial mech and spam lrms blindly from behind a rock and get 2 kills and 500+ damage something is broken.
