I play a lot with headphones and was wondering if anybody notices discomfort after awhile from the stomping/droning engine sounds? I want to play longer but the game doesn't give the option to turn those types of sounds down while still hearing weapon, warning indicators, menus and other things. My headphones are the Logitech g430, so if someone knows if this is just a personal issue of bad headset then just ignore my post.

I have issues with sound effects and volume on many games. Mostly some of the sound effects are to loud and cannot be turned down.
This game really has gone to the next level on a few of the in game mechanics but if they added some great volume controls it would be appreciated, at least by me and the others that have complained about the AC volumes levels for instance.
I have started 2 topics about this in the suggestion section of this forum but was ignored. lol

I game exclusively with headphones unless the wife is out of town and I never have had that problem. On the other hand, I do have issues sometimes with the weapons being too loud so I just turn everything down.
Perhaps you should look into equalizer settings? I'm not sure if your system has such a thing. Mine does, but I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi so it has lots of nifty tweaks, etc. You could cut out those frequencies that bother you that way.

Dire Whale torso twisting sound grates on my nerves. Guess it is a big price to pay for sitting on big gunz.

Greetings all,
Are you running the sound in stereo, 'surround' or 'wide'.
- Have you balanced the available speaker locations?
- Even with headsets the speakers can still be selected for front, center, side, back, sub.
At one time MWO did have 'directional' sounds, may still be present. But the overall drone of the running Mech is present in all chassis, different sounds for different engines and chassis, but always there.
- If you think this game has loud constant sounds, you really need to be inside an operational Tank when it running. Deafening is somewhat of an understatement.
You are correct in there are not enough sound channels within the setting to alter some of these base noises.
- Suggestion to separate the Mech, weapons, environmental sounds into different adjustable channels, may be what's needed.

I'm doing this from memory because im at work and have no Windows machines handy
- Go to your sound properties (right click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select "playback")
- Right click your chosen output device and select.. I think it's "properties"
- On the.. probably third or fourth tab, check the box for "disable all audio enhancements"
See if that helps. Some realtek and other drivers do something with the bass that makes it sound out of phase, this has helped me in the past.
heh thanks google!
