This is my Prime build, decent cooling and ok firepower, quite fun to use:

Neg, to get the most out of the little surat, one needs to experiment with each configuration's omnipods and max out the armor. I chose the 4 energy hard point Omni configuration for my Prime, installed a C-SRM6 with Artemis and 3 ER small lasers on my B-Model, and turned my C-Model into a NARCer with ECM and an ER-ML.
So far so good.

I mean...a Cent with XL can hunt lights pretty good. But it's risky due his larger chassis.

This level of ignorance within the PUGs is simply astounding....
With that said, I wholly recommend that MechWarriors interested in the Mist Lynx first master the Spider or Commando. They handle very similarly and are good trainers for the more unforgiving Mist Lynx.

It's pretty useless as a light hunter. Any other light will have your arms off in seconds in a light v light brawl.

Of course is it a very fragile mech and every mistake will be your last but you are so quick to get in the enemies back and take them down.

I'm typically an assault dude, or running around with a fast Battlemaster D and 4 Large Lasers... but I started playing an Anansi every so often to mix it up. Then I tossed a PPC on the Spider's arm and really started loving the hit and run assist gameplay, so, I grabbed a Lynx C earlier today so I'd have two good lights.
I know I could chalk it up to luck, but I've had like 6-7 matches in a row on winning teams, and survived them all without hiding in terror the whole time or anything.
I have one weapon, the ERPPC on the rt arm, lost the AMS. I bumped up the armor on that arm to max, and bumped the leg armor up fairly high too comparatively. I really enjoy running over to the assault lance, sticking around them so they have ECM, and picked on dudes with the PPC from good distances away with minimal time poking out.
Is it the "GREATEST LIGHT MECH EVAAAR?!" no... but I'm having a great time with it, like it's my lucky ride or something, haha.

I still wouldn't call it good, but at least it can do something other than be ECM and AMS on a stick.

phew, less than 6.5 tonnes for weapon and equipment with maxed armor and also very meh hardpoints, 1e + 2m(10) or 2e or 2b + 1e or 2b + 1m(10), all on 1 arm, if you pick ecm (and you obviously do)
hitboxes seem meh too

I wouldn't even consider ECM on a MLX. It doesn't have enough tonnage or hardpoints to support it. If I want to use ECM and nothing else, I'd take a KFX, which was basically my point.
With 4 laser hardpoints the MLX isn't terrible, and you can try to make an SRM build work as well, although ammo is pretty limiting.

As was mentioned above, Op's issue appears to be he cant wait till he's actually mastered a chassis, combined with a rethink of playstyle/ his hit and run tactics

Playing a slow or small light means you have to lean on your team. PUGs are always good for sucking up your damage if you are in a light or medium. Once you have the number advantage it is happy fun time. Get on the backs of guys and core them from behind.
