SRM 2 on BattleMaster anyone?
The project phoenix mechs and their contemporaries are probably the current worst offenders regarding consistent weapon design at the moment.
Locust: Pretty good, but mostly because there's so little you can do with them. AC2s and PPCs undersized.
Shadowhawk: Old Ballistic weapons designs (mostly okay, but LBX and Gauss look bad), PPCs too small.
Thunderbolt: HUGE missile box when fitting smaller SRM builds, PPC too small, Ballistic comes out of a plain grey box, hopelessly undersized. Concept art actually showed unique mesh for large laser. (THIS for all large lasers dammit!)
Battlemaster: Missile boxes too bulky for missile numbers carried. Except for that one with LRM15 arms at hip level. Ballistics are all over the place LBX to long/skinny, Gauss oversized, AC2 and 5 use same mesh. Boating 3 AC2s looks dumb. Why not mount them close together? Lasers all oversized (unless they're ALL Largelasers!)
Wolverine: Mostly okay but AC5, AC10 and in particular LBX vastly undersized. Unique UAC5 is, well, unique, but it is kinda ugly. Chest missiles are underwhelming, but at least scaled.
Griffin: Mostly okay, but missile drums oversized. Chest missiles lack detail of later mechs, for example 3rd LRM mount on MDD ST, (tubes down the nose. Those are at least very detailed)
