A Day In The Life Of A Mechwarrior

As I jump into my Light mechs, I am feeling confident that I will be of use to my teammates. My first ten matches produce no LRM pilots and my team loses horribly. Does that match maker purposely try to screw me? Questions start to become conspiracy theories and I decide to change again.
I have decided that long range sniping will better suit my play style today, as I can assist LRM pilots in securing kills and not be too far ahead like I was in my brawling mechs. My first drop is loaded with Atlas pilots that call for an aggressive push, I am now convinced that match maker is out to ruin my day and boldly charge forward. After my early exit from the fight, I am watching the continued engagement and I read that chatter that my team is typing in game. Things like "GG, bad team", "Cowardly snipers, great game", "LRM baddies", and I wonder if these pilots knew how many play styles I had tried today, or how many other pilots might have had my same experience.
Now with no cares to give and just determined to have fun, I jump into my Gold Timberwolf for my last battle. As I begin to advance forward from spawn I immediately lose a leg. My team chat reads, "GG loser". Mechwarrior Online.. gotta love it!!

I love seeing golden 'Mechs on the field, especially on my team. That blows man.
But yeah, Pug life is pretty tough, and people seem to just like to make it miserable for everyone.

After having played with a team mate who DOES have a Gold Timby, I wince every time he drops in it. I love the thing, but even in groups, people on your team will shoot at it.
There's some seriously caustic people out there, and yeah, they'll go out of their way to make everything worse. It's never cool.

A bit heavy handed, misfires happen. My 1V(P) has been the unfortunate victim of many accidental deaths. Generally because it's short, and on most mechs, gausses are mounted very low...

Anyway. Let's all just praise the Gods we don't have integrated VOIP that forces us to listen to people spreading this kind of hatred verbally. At least I can turn chat off, or simply stop reading if someone on my team starts trolling. VOIP with strangers? No thanks.

Other days, the stars all align and I kill 1, 2, 3, 4 mechs per match and I'm wondering how long my luck will hold.
Best we can do is shrug off when things go unreasonably bad and carry harder.
And if a bad run goes long enough, stop for the day, grab a beer and chill. Fire up the game again the next day or so and enjoy.
( also, hi there Hex, been pugging lately, will probably try to get some group action in the next few days. hit me if you find me on C* NA

Agent friendly fire happens almost every battle we play in MWO and it is quite different from Team Killing a player or purposefully crippling a player before battle starts. For those rare individuals I do advocate a 3 strikes your out rule for team killers.

such is the life on online gaming......its why I am totally awaiting the arrival of PVE for MWO in almost any form. I am on a personal boycott of the PVP in this game. Its just not fun. Its just loss after loss after loss....scrub team after scrub team. I wont say im uber myself, I could improve, but when the games just steamroll one way or the other, there is never really much time to even play the game. By the time anything has developed in a match its pretty much over. By the time the shooting starts, its almost decided. so there is time to fire a few rounds and then the game ends. So not really much time to learn anything....I figured some stuff out watching videos, but in game....its a joke mostly.....no fun at all.
Then as the OP goes on about how his team deliberately blows his mechs leg off just because, that only adds to the misery.....
Its why id take an army of AI bots over any players.....atleast then I could get the satisfaction of knowing my team will fight....and NOT be deliberately trolling or being idiots...
