As a pitbuilder, I'd like to see some kind of support for non-conventional controls in-game. I mean, controls may be masked as HID compliant devices, or emulate keyboard presses, but I'd like to have some outputs to be displayed as warning lights, temperature, damage...
Could this be made possible, by making some info available to the user in a shared memory file, or perharps a lua script?

Suggestion: home cockpit support

Balance issues? More visibility = increased field of fire.
Plus at least in lore, certain 'mechs have better/worse visibility/sensor systems than others. Gives PG the option to create mech-specific cockpits.

I wasn't aiming at having extra visibility by removing info from main display. Just the ability to display damage, heat, etc in extra monitors and warning lights in an actual cockpit. Main display would still remain the same, but you would be able to display the map in a second monitor, as well as damage diagrams, and maybe have some led bar in your dashboard for displaying temperature...
In no way I wanted to imply any in-game advantage as having a wider field of vision or so... only it would rock to have a functional cockpit to increase immersion (I should start working my neurohelmet interface, hehehe)

This has been suggested before, but no solid answer has been given yet, neither a yes or a no.
I would love for this kind of stuff to be available, but I doubt it will be there at launch so am hoping for "sometime down the road"........
