Locked out of the house and bitting my finger nails over the beta, so what is you fav mech, why and hen was the first time you play mech warrior?
I started at the age of 8 and my fav mech is the Timber Wolf or mad ct as it was later know.

Archer, I bought the boxed game when it was called Battle droids, then fasa got in trouble and changed the name to battle tech.

Hmmm... I believe I was under 8 years old for my first game, but I can't pinpoint the age. Somewhere between 5-8, at least.
First game I played was MechWarrior 2 on my dad's PlatStation.
He also had Crazy Ivan, Shadow Gunner, and Future Cop: LAPD, so I was really into mech games.
Favourite mech came later, though, when I got MechWarrior 4: Mercs.
I love my little laser-boat Crab.
Of course, my favourite before that was the Timber Wolf. It had to be, considering it was the first 'mech I latched onto.
It still has a special place in my heart.

Never played TT but my first encounter on the PC was getting MW2:Mercs I was about 10 and I loved it! What kid wouldn't like stomping about in a giant walking war machine blasting everything?

Fav mech I would probably go with the Mauler, great selection of weapons, good armor and it looks bad *** too

I always loved the Grasshopper. But that wasn't in my first rule set (it's in the later tech readout). So my true first fav was the Archer.

And I started with TT rules and cardboard stand-ups back in (I think) '86.

only thing i didnt like about the mauler is its huge profile. But it sure looks intimidating.

HEH, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that boxed set back then. I miss the "lost" mechs. My favorite back then was a modified Marauder design I called the "Ravager."

I owned the first and second Mechwarrior games for PC, and got back into it with MW4 Vengence/Mercs/Black Knight.

Don't have a "favorite" overall, as those games really favored assault class mechs. Not to say i don't like assasult class mechs.

I started with MechWarrior RPG, Second Edition when I was 9 i think. Been playing it in one form or another for 28 years now. As to my favorite Mech, it has to be the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat for you non clanners, lol). I was heartbroken when FASA went under and Microsoft bought the rights. The games that they put out were good, but could have been MUCH better. I am glad that it is being brought back. Now let see if the current developers can stick to the correct story line with this game. I will say this though, if they bring in the clans and don't have the Timber Wolf, that will be it for me.

i played it first as the old board game i would have to say my favorite mech is a modified highlander as i love to give highlander burials.

Having never played a table top version I have missed a lot but Mech Warrior 2 being the first pc game I had ever played I've always loved the Franchise. Oh and has any one played" mech assault" on the original Xbox and know if there is a pc port?

first time i played a Battletech related game was the tabletop.. but it was nearly..20 years ago, IIRC.
And my favourite mech was the Archer as it was the first mech I had a sheet of.

Later on i began to love the Dragon and the wolfhound as the books went down throught my eyes.

Timberwolf is my favorite mech. Versatile and destructive. The first time I played was Mechwarrior 2, the original.

prolly 10 or 12 when i got ahold of MW4 vengence, then black knight, then mercs. So many favorites...couger, hellhound, nova, mad cat, mad cat mk II, fafner...could go on forever lol

My first game was the turn based game the Crescent Hawks. However my first Multiplayer MW title was MPBT on AOL where my two favorite mechs were the catapult and the marauder. Too bad my Marauder is an unseen

Favorite Mechs:

Clan Tech would have to be any of the Cats (Shadow Cat, Nova Cat, Mad Cat)

IS Tech would be the Bushie (Bushmaster), Thantos, Vulture.

first game was god.. 6th or 7th grade so 90-91 my friend got me into it.
my favorite mech is a toss up between the t-bolt or the crusader. both really good solid mechs
