[redacted]?

Way out of bounds dude!

Prices were great, criteria were a matter of taste. Weren't my favourite criteria either, but all in all it was a good event, although a little frustrating at times.

Saw this coming and did not bother playing.

I have to say when event on play gets bad, from the last event I got "If you kill steal from me I will kill you".

Not sure we have got to the level of dumbness and bad sportsmanship of "Call of Duty", but MWO getting there.

Didn't see much of the behaviour you're describing.

Perhaps if you're seeing it all the time it's because you're doing it, and people are reacting to you?

challange =/= free giveaway, yet you could easily get some premium days. It's not like that victor is going to make you the amazing über pilot owning MWO or finding a cure for cancer.

There was a definite change in behaviour. Players much more timid and even more prone to cowering in cover and playing peekaboo. Even had one match where 4 heavies were scattered and ran to hide because of a single advancing Hunchback 4SP.

This challenge was actually a good thing for a number of reasons. Firstly, it was a genuine challenge, rather than just getting a pat on the back for just taking part. Secondly, and probably most importantly, it shows up the real problem of the whole game: the entitled, lazy, blame-everyone-but-themselves playerbase.

Unfortunately, this is not just MWOs problem, but modern MMOs in general. As soon as there's any challenge in any game these days, players are up in arms calling for nerfs which they generally get because devs are frightened of people leaving because of it.

That's why most other MMOs are so dull, and that's why I play MWO.

Ya coulda just not played like I choose. My KDr is 1.0 So I die as often as I kill. Not a good statistic for a survival challenge.

true, thats why i left WOW bakc in the days, its so mainsteram mass catring it feels like there is no real challange in the game. and the Only "challange" called the big raids is actually only challenging you to abandon reallife and invest loads of time for. Thats not gamign thats grinding. Dunno why people like that, its actually pretty brainless and boring.

PGi made sure that there is an additional easy low level reward for nearly all challanges and even some extra money for the latest tournament when you meet some rather low conditions. Still people complain. Hardly any other games have these kind of rewards for their events, nor do they make events that regulary. It's great in MWO, except I have some kind of reallife and can't do that every weekend. But then its not important at all. It's a nice motivation to play the game.

I never played WoW, but I did play City of Heroes for about 6 years before it got closed down. It was the same there. Started off where the end game Arch Villains needed a bit of planning and thought to take down. The early levels were where you actually learned to PLAY your character.

Towards the end of the games life people were able to SOLO an AV, and the devs introduced a trial that anyone could play which would allow them to power past the first 30 levels and then have a problem when it came to something more difficult, because they'd had it so easy until then.

Some of the more recent MMOs are like that from the get go. I gave TERA a go a while back and that was the same. Same, boring, rinse and repeat game play all the way through. I remember seeing a "Zero Punctuation" review where Croshaw said that if aliens ever invaded, MMO players would be ideal slaves because they're so used to doing the same thing over and over again and will even pay for the privilege.
